I have planted sweet pepper seeds and the first one is u-p.  They should be pretty nice sized by the time it is warm enough for them to go outside the middle of May.  I'll start tomato seeds soon.  Those are 2 things I never buy in the grocery store.  I freeze what I can't use and have plenty for winter.  I also have lettuce up in a container outside; also radishes.  Later I'll plant cucumbers, beans and melons.

I always bought the really good cherry tomatoes  ... $2.66 pkg.  They they went to $2.88 then in a new package for $3.66.  I loved those things but wasn't going to pay that.  And I didn't like any of the other brands -- I did without.
Then a new brand arrived for $2.88.  I loved them and have been eating lots of them every day.  Today I reached for a new pkg and saw they had gone to $3.66.   I'll do without.

I can't believe the price of your tomatoes,I pay any where from $2 to .99 cents for the cherry or grape tomatoes.A few weeks ago at Aldi's I paid .49 cents a carton.They tasted like a tomato should taste,not flavorless like some tomatoes taste during the winter.

"!GRANA here;
To compensate for heoutrageou ly high prices of tasteless winter tomtoes; I use juice packed pineapple chunks or mandarin orange segments to top my salads.They both add bright color & vitamins, I use an ASIAN GINGER SOY DRESSING & it goes even better w/ fruit  than w/ tomatoes.
My Mother used to grow cherry tomatoes in her SUNNY   bedoom window in the wintertime; another way

I never buy tomatoes.  I grow my own and can or freeze for the winter.  I had a cherry tomato plant I brought in and had fresh tomatoes for Christmas
