I think that the closer you stay to natural foods the healthier the diet, baked and broiled meats, raw and steamed veggies, fresh fruits and nuts, make your carbs count eat complex carbohydrates, cooked cereal instead of processed,I cook with real butter, olive oil and canola.A little butter goes a long way in cooking when paired with olive or canola oil use it as a flavor.I use olive oil and red wine vinegar in our salad dressings,we eat salad almost everyday, some days twice.Pita bread, whole wheat and white both with sesame seeds.I'm not a milk drinker,I drink soy and almond milk just the plain no sugar or flavoring and low fat yogurt.I drink at least a half gallon of water per day and have given up diet pop.I drink iced tea, real not from a bottle,I cup of coffee in the morning and I now enjoy a cup of dark chocolate hot cocoa in the evening. Dinner is the smallest meal of the day for me.My lab work shows I'm doing well I'm happy and so is my Dr.I bake almost everyday,I share with family and friends, most of my baking is with fruit and nuts.(MODERATION) is key in a healthy diet.
I don't have a healthy diet -- but like Judy said - I don't eat commercial baked stuff (except bread). In my opinion commercial cookies and cakes are awful
