I again paid ninety nine cents a pound for red seedless grapes. I do not have time to freeze grapes.

Hi everybody.  I was finishing my shopping, at Aldi's on Wednesday, and the manager of that store brought to my attention, a sale on 93% lean gr. beef that was clearanced @2.00 off the original price.  It was going to be outdated the next day.  I only paid $1.50 cents for a pound!  They, also. had deep crust pizza's for 1.00 each, so I could not pass that up either. 

I thought I was getting a good price on 24 oz of honey @ Walmart but found Aldi's 24 oz honey to be 4.49 vs 5.19.  So, it is really good, if you can, take some time to check prices.  I have seen an older couple writing down prices at Walmart.  Just like everyone, trying to cut costs.  I guess we all should get better at checking prices if the gas continues to RISE!!!

I purchased a four (4) pound bag of dixie crystal sugar for 39 cents  today. I also purchased t two(2) 59 ounce containers of Tropicana Orange Juice for three dollars today.Coupons are Great.

Hi Verlee,I have made this sort of a hobby scanning the weekly ads and clipping coupons on Sundays and looking on the internet.We have double coupons,so I wait until the last minute to redeem my coupons hoping for a sale.I just worked on next weeks shopping list,I will be able to get french's yellow mustard for 50 cents,stove top stuffing for 50 cents,2  30oz.Hellmanns mayo for $3.50  and I'll wait and see if there are any coupons in this weeks ads.I almost always cut my grocery bill in half using coupons and buying only things on sale.There really haven't been too many great coupons lately so it 's getting tougher to save.I just bought 2 half hams at Aldi's for $ 1.49 # they are spiral sliced bone in.The expiration date on them is July,so one for now and one for later.When the ham is gone I save the bone for a nice pot of bean soup.

We belong to & shop once a month at the  membership ( $30 yr.)CLUB STORE.
They mail us coupon books several times a year & more coupons are in thestore's entry way They allow comining of their coupons w/ mfr.coupons.I've gotten my fave facial cleanser & moisturizer @ less than half price @ the less expensive  Target & Walmart . Beforewe joined I went w/ my best friend on  her membership Together we bought $150+  ( at club prices &  over $200 at local grocery store)worth of food Items & household items (bags; wraps cleaning supplies; pet food & supplies & paid only $51.We  shared the cost & all the items &spliteverythingprettyeveny..I stll have am using some of the wrapping materials . 

Chopped walnuts(used n   COOKIES,  appple TORTES & SALADS ARE $8+ #@ LOCAL CROCERY chain store
We buy  4.5# BAG @ CLUB STOR FOR les than $10_I use my food processor to chop the pieces as desired for different planned uses( coarse for  some cookies & salads; medium for  other cookies & breads; fine for /cakes/muffins
I cull out the unbroken halves.Each variety of pieces  is placed in 1/2cup - 1cup zip top bags in qty needed  for most uses; 9 1/2-1cup.These are then frozen till needed.About ten - twenty bbags of walnut pieces for baking, stack up & take less room then one store pkg of 1/2# nuts& cost less than  half as much. On baking day I save time 'cuz the nuts are already measured out & chopped as needed for each recipe. 
Since I chop all the walnuts in batches on one day,I only have to wash out the nutty food proccessor  once a month or so.  I usually cull out a cup or more of halves that I  leave as is & freeze for snacking & toppng baked goods( brownies; banana-nut  muffins & nut breads.
This moth e also bought a  4   bag of whole almonds ( about $8...hubby loves them by1/2 cup as a snack.I froze  2 cups in separate small bags ( 40 uts er kt.) froze them for topping my own homemade Chinese almond cookies( 3.5 dozen eachtime baked) . This way hubby won't accidently finish off the whole supply & leave me w/ no almonds to top my cookies.Wink

I paid 1.00 for 20 (twenty) Key Limes I also paid 95 cents for ten regular limes today. I grated and  juiced them. I froze the juice .

Oh Maxine....Key Lime Pie  Love it.  I make my crust for the key lime pie from broken cookies.  Sometimes we can find them at the outlet store.  I crush the cookies then freeze them.  I sometimes add coconut to the cookie crumbs for the Key Lime Pie.  Very tasty.

Wal-mart has a bread rolling shelf that has markdowns on pies, cakes, donuts, and breads.  It is a good way to try some unusual type of bread also.  We buy a few things and freeze the ones we are not using.

We have several bread and pastry outlet stores in our area that I shop.The best deal is Aladdins Bakery down town,Fresh pita bread for half the cost in our area stores.You can watch the fresh pita bread as it rolls off the conveyer belt ready to be package.They also make their Hummus and Tahini in the store along with all kinds of Middle East bakery,sesame seed cookies and fig cookies and different flavored flat breads.You can also buy fresh gyro's.Many times we go down there and buy some things for lunch and go and sit by the lake and enjoy our lunch.Aladdins bakery also caters to all the Middle Eastern royalty that are receiving care at the Cleveland Clinic.

You make me hungry just reading this.  I love pita bread and to be able to get fresh Hummus and Tahini would be a real treat. The cookies sound so good.  I am sure about the only fig cookies most people are used to are the "fig newton" type cookie that we grew up with.  Now, as an adult I find them rather dry and the fig filling pretty tasteless. And you can't beat a great Gyros, it is a sandwich best eaten out side so you don't make a mess of the table.

When I got home home from the doctor I fell into bed for a nap .... I thought it would be a SHORT nap.  I slept over two hours so there's no time for dinner - I'm leaving for church right now!

He's a champ at finding GREAT bargains at the store, even though he absolutely HATES shoping of any kind.Yell

Walmart sometimes has some shelving of the reduced products in the rear of the store - also redouced baked goods.  Remember to check  the meat dept. for packages of meats with yellow reduced price stickers.
