Several days ago I made Beer Bread. It was quite easy, had only a few ingredients and was very good. If anyone is interested, here is the recipe:4 cups self-rising flour1-1/2 cups warm beer (any flavor)3/4 cup sugar3 tablespoons butter (melted)Mix all dry ingredients with the warm beer. The dough should be thick and chunky. Place the dough into the greased bread baker and press dough down. Make a well in the center and pour the melted butter in the well. Place baker in a COLD oven at 325 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 - 15 minutes.Feel free to experiment with different beers and ales for a savory taste. The darker the beer, the deeper the flavor and taste. NOTE: I used a Beer Bread Baker I had received two years ago for Christmas. It is made of pottery.ALSO NOTE: I did not have self-rising flour, therefore I added 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt for every cup of All Purpose flour.
Hope you enjoy it.
