Wandering through the store today I was looking for a cookie mix (had a coupon) and in the cake, cookie  aisle I saw a cake mix I had not noticed before.  It is a Pillsbury mix and it is a Chocolate Truffle cake mix a Chocolate cake done in a Bundt pan with a tunnel of fudgy filling in it.
Sure looks the same as the old Tunnel of Fudge Cake but it was probably re named "Truffle" to make it appear more current and a bit more upscale. May have to look for a coupon and get it.

I went to the website and there are three cakes in the "Supreme Collection" they are
Fudge Truffle a chocolate cake with a fudge center running through.

Red Velvet a red velvet cake and there is a white creamy looking filling not sure what it is not a great description on the site for any of the cakes.

Apple Spice it looks like a Spice cake with a chunky apple filling running through the center fo the cake.

Now to track down a coupon....

Nikki, I haven't made a Tunnel of Fudge Cake in years, but sure did love them when I made/had them. Our Vons (Safeway) store has Pillsbury cake mixes on sale this week, but I doubt that it's the Supreme Collection, as those seem to be more pricey. If you end up making the chocolate truffle cake, please let us know what you think about it.

Memories of the 60s! Whatever happened to the boxed cake mixes?

I  missed out on the tunnel of fudge era.  Guess I was busy with the kids and there wasn't money for anything extra.  I have, however, enjoyed the J*ll* Lemon Dessert.  It has everything needed in the package for the graham cracker bottom, lucious lemon filling and topping to finish the dessert.  No baking!  Make it in the 8x8 or 9x9 pan and the lemon is plentiful.  Making it in a 9 x 12 takes something away from it.

Thanks for the info Nikki.  I would probably buy all three except everybody I know seems to be on a "diet" lately and wouldn't eat any.  Maybe when my freezers have some room I can make one and freeze all but one piece(for me) lol.

Nikki, lets hope you find a coupon. I've noticed the regular price of cake mixes is really high now, and the special ones even higher.

I don't do much baking for just one person, but this sounds yummy. Most anything chocolate would be good.

Checked them out in the store yesterday......I think I WILL wait for a coupon.  Don't want to have to take out a loan!!  Just kidding!!  It was a bit higher than the regular.  If they want people to try them, they will have to put out at least one coupon to get everyone hooked on them!  Then the second purchase will be on your own, without a coupon.  That's how most of those coupons work.

just bought the truffle one at walmart           it was 2.88            not too bad
i forgot today is my b.d.  and someone already brought me some cake

so i'll probably save it for my d.i.l.'s b.d.  on the 15th

also if you make other ones that require pudding mix, sour cream etc. it can actually cost more
as everything except oil and eggs is in the box

Make sure you let us know how the cake turns out.  Particularly since you got the truffle one.
I would have done one for tomorrow but I decided to try one of the No Bake Cheese-cakes on this site.  Not sure if I will do the Toll House one, that uses toll house cookie dough as the base or the Easy No Bake one that is a cracker crumb crust.

Nikki, if a recipe calles for cookie dough, I just make my own for the base. Making my own, I know exactly what is in it and know there's no "hidden" trans fat.
