Hi Teresa -- Welcome to VBB.
I went to www.ghirardelli.com and searched all cake recipes.  Sorry, but I couldn't find yours.
They do have some really great recipes but, sadly, not that one.
Maybe a member here will have that recipe on file.

I found a recipe by Paula Deen that is for a Black Velvet Cake.  Hope this helps but I will post another that might work for a cake mix if that is what you are doing.
Black Velvet Cake
2 C flour
2 C plus 2 Tb sugar
1 Cup dark cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
 1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 Cup cold espresso
1 Cup buttermilk
1/2 Cup vegetable oil
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a Bundt Pan or 2, 9 inch round pans.
In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients.  Make a well and add eggs, espresso, buttermilk and oil.  Mix.  Batter will be thin. Pour into prepared pan(s).
Bake Bundt for 35 to 40 minutes.
Bake 9 inch round pans for 25 minutes.

Frosting
1 Cup butter, melted
1 1/3 Cup dark cocoa powder
6 Cups powdered sugar, sifted
2/3 Cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
Mix butter and cocoa together alternately add milk and sugar.  Add vanilla.  Add a bit more milk if needed.

This sounds good and very rich I just may have to give this a try.

Here is a great cake if you are using a box mix.
Decadent Chocolate Bundt Cake
1 package devils food cake mix
1 package (4 serving size) chocolate instant pudding mix
4 eggs
1 Cup sour cream
1/2 Cup water
1 Cup milk
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour Bundt pan.
In large mixer bowl combine cake ingredients except chocolate chips.
Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Pour into prepared pan.  Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cool 25 minutes in pan on wire rack.
Remove from pan and finish cooling

Frosting:
2/3 Cup chocolate chips, melted
1/3 Cup sour cream
Mix frosting ingredients and spread over cooled cake.

I like the cake but prefer to use a ganache glaze rather than the frosting recipe that came with the cake recipe.
Ganache is:
1 Cup whipping cream
8 ounces chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
1 Tb liqueur, amaretto, raspberry or use vanilla extract or other flavoring.
Heat cream to almost a boil
Pour over chocolate.
Allow to stand for a few minutes.  Stir until smooth.
To use as a glaze allow to stand 30 minutes pour over cake
To use as a frosting allow to stand 3 to 4 hours spread over cake, can be whipped.
Any left over can be cooled until firm then rolled into balls and rolled in cocoa  powder or powdered sugar for truffle candy.

If none of these works for you I do have a recipe for a Chocolate Torte that is fancy looking but very easy.  Or for something different search the recipes for a Cranberry Almond Pound Cake.  I have it in my recipe box so you should be able to find it if you want to check it out. Great combination of almond paste and fresh and dried cranberries.

Teresa I did something that I rarely do.  I found a container of the Ghiradelli cocoa and I took a photo of the can with my phone.  Here is your recipe.

This is for a Grand Fudge Cake I hope it is the same thing.

2 Cups Flour
3/4 Cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 Cup butter, softened
1 3/4 Cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
1 1/3 Cup milk
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and lightly flour two (" round cake pans.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl of mixer cream butter and sugar on medium high until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Reduce speed to low and add vanilla and eggs one at a time, scraping bowl after each addition.  Alternately add flour mixture and milk, starting and ending with flour mixture, while mixing at low speed. Mix until smooth.
Pour into prepared pans.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.

And here is the butter cream frosting to go with it.
6 Tb butter, softened
2 2/3 Cup powdered sugar
1/2 Cup unsweetened cocoa
1/3 Cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
In bowl beat butter until light and fluffy.  In a separate bowl combine cocoa and powdered sugar.  Blend sugar mixture with butter alternately with milk beating well with each addition.  Beat until smooth. Mix in vanilla.

Hope this is the recipe you wanted.

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh Nikki - that sounds so very, very good.  I don't bake many cakes but that one sounds too good to pass.
