SNICKERS CANDY BAR COOKIES
4 dozen --  350 degrees --12-15 minutes -- ungreased

14 oz bag of miniature Snickers

3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 sticks butter - softened
2 eggs
1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 cups flour

Cream together the sugars, butter and peanut butter.  Add vanilla and beaten eggs.
In another bowl combine flour, baking soda & baking powder.
Add to wet mixture and mix well.
Shape into 48 balls.  Cut Snickers bars in half (** I use whole Snickers miniature bar for each cookie **)
Wrap piece of dough around each piece of Snickers forming a ball.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.

Marie -- I can promise that you'll enjoy these cookies.  They are great.

And something I forgot to add ..... After rolling the dough around the little Snickers, I drop the cookie into a plastic bag with sigar in it.  This coats the cookie with "pretty" sugar and it really looks a lot nicer than the "bald" cookie.

I roll most of my raw cookies in a bag of sugar - it's really pretty.   I use plain sugar for most and the white, sparkling sugar for the others.

Hi, they sound so yummy!!!  I am allergic to peanuts.  I wonder how many large almond snickers it would take to make them.

Julie - the recipe says the tiny mini bars should be cut in half.  I leave mine whole.  I want LOTS of candy in that cookie.

And even if other candy bars are used in the recipe -- it still contains peanut butter so be careful of allergies.

Sherry -- I usually bake cookies for the kids at church - vast amounts of cookies lol - I also take them to adults for "testing".
These cookies were a smash hit.  Adults and children appreciated them very much.

Because of the glorious Christmas season there are many bags of of mini candy bars.  There are even mini Butterfingers!  They make fantastic cookies.
There are many bell-shaped mini cany bars.   I tried the Snickers first, then Butterfingers and Baby Ruth (Butterfinger is the most popular).
I'm certain any candy bar would work ............... hee hee hee .... but I do feel obligatedee to keep trying!  lol

Try this "cookandy"  (figure that's a good a name as any)
Place a peppermint patty between two cookies press to seal the edges.  Sort of like a mint ravioli.  I have used chocolate cookie dough and it tastes great.  If you want to make them real small, more like the recipe listed above by Nancy use Junior Mints and roll the cookie dough around 1 or 2 Junior Mints.
A regular sugar cookie dough works great with this as well. A butter cookie dough, like a spritz would taste good but the dough may be a bit more crumbly.
