SNICKERS BAR COOKIES

Yesterday I baked a batch of these ......... I've posted the recipe before but they are so good I decided to do it again. Before baking I sprinkled these with those tiny chocolate Decors.

SNICKERS BAR COOKIES

350* - ungreased - 12-14 minutes - 4 Doz. cookies

3/4 cup white sugar

3/4 brown sugar

2 stick butter softened

2 beaten eggs

1 cup peanut butter

1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

3 cups flour

*14 oz bag of mini Snickers Candy bars (use Milky Way, Butterfinger - anything you like)

Instructions say to cut candy bars in half. I don't, I use whole

Mix everything as usual. I divide the dough into 48 balls then roll dough around a candy bar.

Make certain the dough "seals" in the candy bar and forms a little ball. I sprinkle each ball with a

tiny amount of cocoa, confectioners sugar, finely chopped peanuts, whatever I want.

Bake at 350* on ungreased sheet 12-14 minutes or until a light golden brown.

Nancy, Thanks for the snickers bar cookies recipe. I can't remember if I
printed these before or not! Must be having another senior moment!!
lol lol Getting low on ink again!! Hubby thinks I might being making too
many copies. I told him I didn't think so!! lol lol Thanks for the added tips
on cocoa, powerded sugar, and nuts!!

Hi Barbara --- no, those chocolate sprinkles do not melt. I don't like them very much at all - I think cocoa is the best but I have never one time successfully sprinkled on cocoa .... It's always too thick. That great Wilton Sparkling White Sugar is the best on any cookie but, yikes, it cost a lot.

The dough sounds good all by itself.
The peanut butter got me!
I just may try these this weekend although I am trying to track down cacao nibs to make that cake I posted. I called Whole Foods and they do carry them so I will make the long haul to Whole Foods to get the nibs. If I do track them down the cookies will wait until later.
I would dearly love to make both but I would just eat them and I just can't do that!

The kids at church prefer these made with Butterfinger but those don't come in the MINI size so they have to be cut in half - or cut somehow. They are too crisp/hard to cut evenly so usually they just shatter. Once in a while I'll make a batch with those but not often.
Of course a Rolo is perfect. lol lol ---- I think a Rolo is just about perfect for everything!

I don't know why I did not post this suggestion earlier for you but...
Can you mix the cocoa powder with either granulated sugar or powdered sugar then roll the cookie in the sugar? That will put a bit less cocoa on the cookie and make the coating more even, sort of like rolling a cookie in cinnamon sugar. If you want a coarser sugar get a bag of the product called Sugar in The Raw the sugar is a bit darker than a white sugar but it is coarser than white sugar.
