I brought lunch to my niece the other day and she can not have gluten.  I have had a recipe for a while that I have been meaning to try so I decided to use her as a taste tester. We decided that the cake was really pretty good so I decided to share it with you.
Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake
1 1/2 Cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 (19 ounce) can garbanzo beans drained and rinsed
4 eggs
3/4 Cup white sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 Tb powdered sugar for dusting
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 inch pan.  (I lined with parchment)
Place chocolate chips in a bowl and place over a pan of simmering water or melt in microwave.
Combine beans and eggs in food processor.  Process until smooth.
Add in sugar and baking powder, pulse to blend.
Pour in melted chocolate and blend until smooth.  Scrape down sides to make sure mixture is completely blended.
Bake for 40 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 to 15 minutes.
Turn out onto serving plate.  Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.

I think the dark chocolate chips and possibly even the chocolate mint ones would be very good in this as well.

How was the texture of this cake?

Judy, I was quite surprised.  I thought it was going to be dry.  As a matter of fact I brought some ganache to put on top if it was too dry.  Did not really need it as the cake was pretty moist.
It was not a heavy cake.  The texture seemed like that of a brownie but it did not have the chewiness that a brownie or regular cake would have.  It almost melted in your mouth.  It looked very much like fudge when it was cut but not quite as dense looking as fudge.
I got the recipe from All Recipes so you can check out the reviews there for more opinions about it. It is listed as Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake.

"  I brought some ganache to put on top "

You bought ganache?  Will you just keep/store it until another baking day?  Where did you buy?  What brand?

I'd probably enjoy this cake if someone else made it and didn't tell me what was in it.  Yea, I'm one of those!  Very interesting.

I made ganache.  I had some in the freezer and thawed it out and took it with me.
So I guess the brand is ...Nikki's Special Tasty Ganache.
What did not get used or taken home by my Niece was tossed back into the freezer.
