Peanutbutter Texas sheet Cake

Peanut Butter Texas Sheet Cake




 

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
1 c. butter
1 c. water
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 t. vanilla extract
1/2 c. buttermilk

Peanut Butter Icing:

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
1/3 c. plus 1 T. milk
16-oz. pkg. powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla extract

Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking soda in a large bowl; set aside. Combine butter, water and peanut butter in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Add to flour mixture and mix well; set aside. Combine eggs, vanilla and buttermilk; add to peanut butter mixture. Spread into a greased 15"x10" jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, until it springs back when gently touched. Prepare Peanut Butter Icing: Combine butter, peanut butter and milk in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar and vanilla to a spreading consistency. Spread Peanut Butter Icing over warm cake. Makes 15 to 20 servings.

Thanks Judy -- I copied and pasted the recipe on an email to myself and it worked fine.   I did not get the photo but did get all of the recipe.

Hi Judy and thanks for this recipe.I'm baking for the holidays now but I think I'll throw one of these cakes together so the guys quit bugging me for cookies.It's hard to bake with these two here they want to eat everything as it's coming out of the oven.lol I did what Nancy did copy and pasted and it worked.

Sounds delicious!!  I make chocolate Texas sheet cake and a white Texas sheet cake but never a peanut butter flavor!!  I can't wait!! Thanks for the recipe!

Sorry some got cut off.  I cut and pasted it from the Gooseberry Patch recipe.  When I sent it, it was not cut off.  Don't know what happened.

Thanks for reposting.  For some reason, my PC will not let me copy & paste so I must write it out by hand.  It was so much easier when I could see the whole recipe.  I must try this.  I love P.B. with a passion!!  Thanks so much!

Thanks Judy! I made it this morning and was going to wait to have a piece for dessert tonight.Well I couldn't wait and I'm glad I didn't it's very good.It's very moist and if you like peanut butter this is a winning recipe.I'm keeping this one.I baked mine in a 9x13 pan and just added 7 mins to the baking time.I also sprinkled some chopped peanuts on top after it was frosted.Yummy!

have you tried highlighting the recipe you want   by holding the left cursor down and moving it down until all the recipe is highlighted, r    and then click on the  'file'   on left top   of your screen        choose        'print'            and then  under page range    choose         'selection'
and it will print whatever you have highlighted
