In Response to Re: NUTELLA : Nikki, I wish we had Aldi's in CA, but when I went to MI I got some spatzel noodles 2 for $5. I took 4 pkg. home in my suitcase and got some German choc. candybars for my hubby. Aldi's is one of the first stores I go to when I get back there. I get their emails so I can see all the specials I'm missing.

Their spatzel noodles are great!  The chocolate is really good as well.  A friend of mine took some of the chocolate on a ski trip.  Her friends come from around the country and several from "across the big pond" and they all brought chocolate with them.  Aldi's "won" the taste test.

Yummy, my favorite snack! LOL  I usually don't have enough of it left to make any of the recipes, will have to stock up again.  Spread some on rice cakes for a quick snack topped with some dried fruit or straight out of the jar for a quick pick-me-up lol. Thanks to all for the recipes and ideas.

This sounds like me!  A jar of Nutella never lasts long around my house once it's opened (and it usually does not remain "unopened" for very long).  I sometimes make a peanut butter, Nutella, and banana sandwich--either on bread, bagel, or graham crackers--or even open faced on toast or a toasted english muffin.

I don't think I have ever noticed Nutella in stores.  I will have to look for it.

Well I finally got to taste Nutella. I bought a jar and I was some what disappointed.I love Rocher's candies, however.I guess I was thinking there would be more hazelnuts and less chocolate and a little less sweet than it was.My son enjoyed it.

Here's a quick desert using nutella:  Heat a crepe (or think tortilla, if you don't have any) slather nutella, put sliced banana on top.  Roll and eat.  If you like put whipped cream or cool whip inside or on top (or both.)

We absolutely LOVE eating these Nutella crepes! So easy and good!

This is a comparison between Peanut butter and Nutella
Totals:                                 Peanut Butter:                Nutella:                   Skippy Natural:
Serving size:                         2 Tablespoons               2 Tablespoons       2 Tablespoons
Fat Calories:                         190                                   200                              180
Fat Calories                           140                                 100                             140
Total Fat                                  17 g                                11 g                            16 g
Sat. Fat                                   3.5 g                               3.5 g                           3.5 g
Sodium                                    150 mg                          15 mg                         150 mg
Total Carb                                7 g                                  22 g                            6 g
Fiber                                          2 g                                 1 g                               2 g
Sugars                                       3 g                                  21 g                            3 g
Protein                                       7 g                                  3 g                               3 g

This is Skippy Creamy and Nutella and the newer one I got that is a Skippy Natural Creamy
Biggest difference is the added fat the Skippy Peanut Butter uses a partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, (rapeseed, cottonseed and soybean) and the Nutella uses Palm oil. The Natural uses Palm oil.

By the way after I found that the peanut butter I had purchased used a partially hydrogenated oil I switched to the Skippy Natural. (good reason to read labels IN the store!) although the label does state there are 0 trans fats per serving...Well I never eat just 2 tablespoons of peanut butter.
