This time of year I bake a batch of brownies in a 9x13 baking dish. About a minute before they are finished, I remove the dish from the oven and cover the top with mint chocolate morsels.  Then I put the dish back in the oven for the last minute or so.  When that time has passed, I remove the dish from the oven again and using a spatula, I spread the melted chocolate over the top of the brownies like frosting.  Then I sprinkle crushed candy canes or red and green snowflake decor over the still moist chocolate.  When the brownies are cooled, I carefully slice them into squares using a warm knife.  My family loves these mint brownies.

Wow, Wendy -- we know brownies are good ... these sound Great.
I don't have any mint morsels but I can use your fine idea with "plain" chocolate morsels and the crushed candy canes.
I can't wait to see this.
Many thanks

Wendy-That recipe sounds really good. Have you ever tried warm brownies topped with vanilla bean ice cream and hot fudge sauce? This is really good and truly I should never have gone there. :) Do you or anyone else have a recipe for a black bean brownie? This recipe is suppose to be the healthier version. Thanks! Deblyn :)

I have done this with a combination of White chips and semi sweet chips.  When you spread them after they have softened you get a very pretty swirled effect.  Have not used the mint as my grandson is not a fan of mint and when I make a batch of brownies it is best that I remove at least half from the house.
