Heat melted my dark chocolate chips

Left the chocolate chips in the car in the heat and they melted. I put them in my freezer and have a block of chocolate pieces. Does anyone have a recipe for their use??? I would be really grateful to

IAngela, I would take a heavy knife and cut it into chunks and make Chocolate Chunk cookies instead of Chocolate Chip cookies. You could also melt the bar in the microwave and use the melted chocolate for dipping or for the base of a chocolate sauce or topping. It's certainly too bad it happened, but I feel confident the chocolate bar can be repurposed. Good luck! Heat melted my dark chocolate chips:

I would remelt them and stir in a lot of nuts, put them in clumps on wax paper and have chocolate covered nuts. I love them.

It should work for any recipe that requires melted chocolate. Cutting the "block" into pieces is more work, but worth it to save the chocolate!

All good suggestions. I would probably go with chopping the block and then using it for cookies or fudge or sauce. Chopping it would be best even if you are going to melt it either in the microwave or double boiler. It is easier to melt it evenly.
I'm sure you will find a yummy way to use it.

you can grate some of it to use as a topping

let it thaw & slice with electric knife

melt the whole thing & spread on wax paper lined cookie sheet, it will be thin enough for you to break into pieces to use for cho. chunk cookies

I knew you would come through!!! Thanks. Those dark chocolate chips are at a premium. Our local Walmart is charging $2.78 a bag, so cannot waste or even give away!

It is getting to the point where it is definitely difficult to make anything special because of the cost. What are the items for baking for the holidays going to cost. You can't buy everything ahead of time because some of the items need to be fresh! If you don't watch your prices even walmart can get you with overpricing.

I stocked up on the choc chips but am worried about the price of
walnuts and pecans!! Our Super Walmart finally had Nestle's dark
choc chips this past Wed. Yippee!! Target's prices were too high.

I just take the 72 oz. bag of choc. chips and it lasts along time.....and the pecans and walnuts are cheaper then the sepertate bags./....i buy my nuts,chocolate chips,flour,and sugar from Sam's Club
