what you need
  • 3 ripe bananas. (sliced and tossed in lemon juice to prevent browning; 1 sliced banana for each layer.)
  • 1 banana mashed really well.
  • 2 boxes (5.1 oz. each) instant JELL-O Regular or Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding.
  • 1 1/2 cups milk.
  • 3/4 cups half and half mixed with 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract in a shallow dish to dip your ladyfingers.
  • 4 tablespoons of spiced rum or rum extract. (you can leave it out if you don't want it or your serving children.)
  • 2 tubs (8 oz. each) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed.
  • 1 package hard ladyfingers. (the kind used to make regular tiramisu.)
  • 1 package (8 oz.) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Squares. (you'll need 1/2 cup shaved semi-sweet chocolate.)
  • also you will use: 11x7x1.5 in. pan to make your banana dessert in.
make it
TO MAKE FILLING:
1. Mix puddings and milk in bowl until well blended. Let sit 10 minutes.

2. After 10 minutes, Add the mashed banana, rum (if using), and the 2 tubs of Cool Whip and stir until you see no more whipped topping and it's all mixed in. Now you have 3 cups of mouse filling.

YOU’RE READY TO MAKE THE LAYERS:
1st layer:
Quickly dip in the half and half/vanilla mixture each side of each ladyfinger. (like you do in regular tiramisu.) and Place ladyfingers in bottom of pan, top with 1 cup of mouse filling and spread over ladyfingers, top with 1 of the sliced bananas, then sprinkle with some of the shaved chocolate. Repeat this step 2 more times.
You will get 3 layers total.

CHILLING:
Cover dish with plastic wrap and chill in fridge for 3 to 4 hrs. or overnight or until the lady fingers are nice and soft. (best if made overnight.) Serve it up!!!!! YUMMY!!!!!
Notes
If you want to you could use 3 packages {9 oz. each} of regular or sugar free banana cream pudding {instead of the vanilla pudding} mixed with the 1 banana that you mash, 1 1/2 cups of milk, whipped topping, and rum {if using}.

Fran, you can add the recipe to your recipe box.  Click on "My Recipe Box" in the upper right corner and then click on "Add Recipe" then you will have to write out the recipe that you wish to add to your recipe box.  It will also be able to be viewed by others as they scroll through all the recipes in the VBB recipe collection but it will be there.
