When I think of Fall I think of pumpkin.  I love to make all things with pumpkin.  I just made pumpkin pie muffins and are they delish!
Also I make pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving.  This year I am going to stock up on canned pumpkin, as sometimes I like to make a recipe using pumpkin in the summer.

At this time of year when apples and pumpkins are in abundance, I get busy cooking and canning.  Homemade applesauce and apple butter (both unsweetened) are two of my favorites.  I also visit my farmers' market and buy the smaller pie pumpkins. Besides enjoying baked pumpkin (as I do all types of squash), I also make pumpkin puree and freeze it for future use, and of course I roast pumpkin seeds (yum!).  Pumpkin really is such a versatile vegetable and can be used in a wide variety of different recipes.

I have made strawberry and raspberryfudge.   I just follow the basic vanilla fudge recipe and add flavoring and food color to give the fudge the color needed.  I  have even made vanilla with a swirl of raspberry.  I post recipes in the near future.  Kiss

When I think of fall, I think apples.  I love to make homemade apple pie.  Of course, my kids like it too so I usually have to make more than one!

Every year my family goes apple picking in the fall. We always come back with too many apples to make pies with (or so my wife says). We somehow end up with pies for months!

Barbara, have you ever canned pumpkin? I'd like to give it a try as we have some pumpkins to use up, but I've never done it before. The cookbooks I have give the directions for canning it so I know how to do that. However, they only give the processing time for using a pressure cooker....which I do not use. Do you....or does anyone else reading this.....know how long to process canned pumpkin in the hot water bath?
And yes, I totally agree....homemade applesauce is the greatest, isn't it?! We've been making it and putting in the freezer, but our freezer is getting rather full. So last week I canned my first applesauce ever in pint jars! Came out great!
Also been cooking up our squash for winter as well. What would we do without all these delicious fruits and veggies?!

I like to make apple pies in the fall.

We are supposed to get a wintery mix, starting as snow and then going to freezing rain.  Here we go again.  Every week we have been getting snow, blizzards, etc.  Think Spring!!!
