Now who doesn't like brownies; so why not start a collection of Brownie recipes.  I was looking at my Cookbook 2005 and I found 12 recipes for Brownies and OH MY do they sound scrumptious.&

Carol, Now I know why they are called Blanket Bars...because you want to take them all and hide under a blanket and eat them all by yourself. The only thing that could possibly make them any better would be a layer of chocolate over the top. Or getting "fancy" dip half into chocolate once they are cut. Thank you ...you have added to a weight problem but thank you just the same.

Nikki,  Nice Try!!!!  There is no l in banket!!! lol lol You just want to bake some and hide under
the blanket and eat them!!!  I hide them in the freezer so my husband can't eat them all. lol lol
They freeze well!!  Let me know how the chocolate works out!! lol lol

Yes thank you so much! I'm going to make a copy of these for my son's they like to make cookies and brownies ,this will be nice for them also.

Another great brownie recipe is VBB's  "Layers of Love Chocolate Brownies".  I've made them several times and they are super.

CAPPUCCINO CAKE BROWNIES

1 TBSP. INSTANT COFFEE GRANULES
2 TSP. BOILING WATER
1 CUP (6 OUNCES) SEMISWEET CHOC. CHIPS
1/4 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
1/2 CUP SUGAR
2 EGGS
1/2 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1/4 TSP. GROUND CINNAMON

1.  IN A SMALL BOWL, DISSOLVE COFFEE IN WATER; SET ASIDE.  IN A MICROWAVE-SAFE BOWL OR SAUCEPAN OVER LOW HEAT, MELT CHOC. CHIPS.  IN A SMALL MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR.  BEAT IN EGGS, MELTED CHOC. AND COFFEE MIXTURE.  COMBINE FLOUR AND CINNAMON; ADD TO THE CREAMED MIXTURE AND MIX WELL.

2.  POUR INTO A GREASED 8-IN. SQUARE PAN.  BAKE AT 350* FOR 25-30 MINUTES OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK INSERTED NEAR THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN.  COOL ON A WIRE RACK.  CUT INTO SQUARES.  YIELD: 16 BARS.

Tomorrow the recipe is Two-Tone Fudge Brownies...Oh my they look Awesome!!

TWO-TONE FUDGE BROWNIES

1 CUP (6 OUNCES) SEMISWEET CHOC. CHIPS
1/2 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
1 CUP SUGAR
3 EGGS
1 TSP. VANILLA
1-1/4 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1/4 TSP. BAKING SODA
3/4 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS

COOKIE DOUGH LAYER:

1/2 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
1/2 CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
1/4 CUP SUGAR
3 TBSP. MILK
1 TSP. VANILLA
1 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1 CUP (6 OUNCES) SEMISWEET CHOC. CHIPS

1.  IN A MICROWAVE-SAFE BOWL, MELT CHOC. CHIPS.  COOL SLIGHTLY.  IN A MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR.  ADD EGGS AND VANILLA; MIX WELL.  STIR IN MELTED CHOC..  COMBINE FLOUR AND BAKING SODA; ADD TO BATTER.  STIR IN WALNUTS.

2.  SPREAD INTO A GREASED 13-IN. X 9-IN. X 2-IN. BAKING PAN.  BAKE AT 350* FOR 16-22 MINUTES OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK INSERTED NEAR THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN.  COOL ON A WIRE RACK.

3.  IN A MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGARS.  BEAT IN MILK AND VANILLA.  GRADUALLY ADD FLOUR.  STIR IN CHOC. CHIPS.  DROP BY TABLESPOONS OVER COOLED BROWNIES; CAREFULLY SPREAD OVER TOP.  CUT INTO SQUARES.  STORE IN THE REFRIGERATOR.  YIELD: 4 DOZEN

EDITOR'S NOTE:  COOKIE DOUGH LAYER IS NOT BAKED AND DOES NOT CONTAIN EGGS.

The "two ton" brownies sound really interesting.  I'll have to make them next.  As someone said "so many brownie recipes, so little time".  I guess we'll just have to make time.

PEANUT BUTTER SWIRL BROWNIES

1/2 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
2/3 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
2 EGGS
2 TBSP. MILK
3/4 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1/2 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1/4 TSP. SALT
1/4 CUP CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER
1/3 CUP PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS
1/3 CUP BAKING COCOA
1/2 CUP SEMISWEET CHOC. CHIPS

1.  IN A MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGARS.  ADD EGGS AND MILK; MIX WELL.  COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT; ADD TO CREAM MIXTURE AND MIX WELL.  DIVIDE BATTER IN HALF.  TO ONE PORTION, ADD PEANUT BUTTER AND PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS; MIX WELL.  TO THE OTHER PORTION, ADD THE COCOA AND CHOC. CHIPS; MIX WELL.

2.  IN A GREASED 9-IN. SQUARE BAKING PAN, SPOON CHOC. BATTER IN 8 MOUNDS IN A CHECKERBOARD PATTERN.  SPOON SEVEN MOUNDS OF PEANUT BUTTER BATTER BETWEEN THE CHOC. BATTER.  CUT THROUGH BATTER WITH A KNIFE TO SWIRL.

3.  BAKE AT 350* FOR 25-30 MINUTES OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK INSERTED NEAR THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN.  COOL ON A WIRE RACK.  YIELD:3 DOZEN

Tomorrow I will post Blond Toffee Brownies!

I am not sure how many brownie recipes I will get to post this week.  I will be having Pre-Admin. testing done (Mon.) and then I will be having surgery (Fri.) along with trying to get things done around the house.  I didn't want you ladies to think I am not standing up to what I promised!

worry about the brownie recipes we can wait. We just want you to be

BLOND TOFFEE BROWNIES

1/2 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
1 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 TSP. VANILLA
1-1/2 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
2 TSP. BAKING POWDER
1/4 TSP. SALT
1 CUP ENGLISH TOFFEE BITS OR ALMOND BRICKLE CHIPS

1.  IN A MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGARS.  ADD EGGS, ONE AT A TIME, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION.  BEAT IN VANILLA.  COMBINE THE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT; GRADUALLY ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE.  STIR IN TOFFEE BITS.

2.  SPREAD EVENLY INTO A GREASED 13-IN. X 9-IN. X 2-IN. BAKING PAN.  BAKE AT 350* FOR 35-40 MINUTES OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK INSERTED NEAR THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN.  COOL ON A WIRE RACK.  CUT INTO BARS. 
YIELD: 1-1/2 DOZEN.

The next recipe I will try to post will be either Mon. or Tues., so look for the Super Brownies!
