In Response to Re: A Brownie with a little twist.:
The brownie pan looks great. But the problem is I have far far to many pans. I just can not justify getting a new pan. I figure sooner or later one will show up at a garage sale of the local Goodwill and I will get it then. The flavor combination of Chocolate and Cherries is heavenly. I am not one for the over frosting of a brownie. I like a plain brownie or if necessary to have a frosting I like a ganache on it. Have you ever heard of a "Crawlin' Cake"? The cherry combination would be great in a crawlin cake. Crawlin Cake is easy but potentially very messy to make. 1 Cake mix, any flavor..Here you would use a chocolate. 1 Tub of frosting, again I would use chocolate for this one or Cherry frosting. 1/4 Cup vegetable oil 1 Cup water or milk 3 large eggs This MUST be mixed by hand!! If you use a mixer it will crawl out of the pan, hence the name. Pre heat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 12 Cup Bundt pan In a large bowl, combine cake mix, oil, water and eggs together, mix until ingredients are well distributed. Scrape the bowl and beat for about 2 minutes. Add the container of frosting and continue to stir for another 2 minutes. Pour batter into pan and bake until cake tests done, tooth pick inserted into center will come out clean. About 55 to 60 minutes. Let cake cool in pan. Invert onto plate and allow to cool completely before cutting. I have tried this cake 2 or 3 times and have had mixed results. First time I tried it I followed directions and used mixer. And I ended up with cake all over the oven. It lived up to the name Crawlin cake alright!! I did some research and found out that the use of a mixer is not recommended. The other cake I did sunk in the center. Very dense cake, moist but not real pretty to look at. Flavor was good but I have had better. If anyone has tried a cake like this I would like your impression and how did yours turn out. Wow did I get off track from the cherry brownies.

Hi Nikki and John, first John thanks for the heads up on the brownie pan .Nikki,I have the same problem with too many pans, but this is a gift from my son and daughter in law so I have to keep it.LOL I too was a thrift store Diva but I can't go anywhere by myself and no one will go with me so those days are over, they said I have too much junk. I miss that, some of the things that I found there were unbelievable.I do have an old recipe that my mom had you made the frosting first and then part of the frosting became the cake batter,it is a chocolate mint cake. It's an old recipe that was a grand prise winner,I'll keep looking and post asap.Nancy don't buy the pan you'll miss out on your edges if you do.LOL
