I found a yummy sounding recipe for Rosemary Lemon Shortbread Cookies, from My Baking Addiction. It calls for White Whole Wheat Flour. Does anyone know if I can substitute regular White Flour instead?

Hi Verlee ~  I'm not sure if you can substitute AP flour for WWW flour however I can tell you that WWW flour is awesome and I use it all the time to bake bread!!  I use King Arthur brand.  It's really nice!

As I understand it you can use AP flour in place of the WWW flour. (I used AP for these very cookies)

I saw those cookies and I made them without the lemon. Amazing, wonderful flavor.  I had a bit of Ganache in my freezer and melted some down and dipped half the cookie in ganache and let that set.  The cookie was great before the chocolate after....out of this world.
I did the chocolate because there is a recipe on this site for a Rosemary Chocolate Pie or Tart and I have made it several times and the flavor always amazes me. (I think it is Rosemary-Kissed Chocolate Satin Tart)

Thanks Renee and Nikki! Since I don't have any WWW, I think I'll try the recipe with AP for this first try.

Renee, where do you get your King Arthur? I know I can order it from their online site, but it would be nice if it was available in a store.

I have found King Arthur flour in WalMart and Harris Teeter (usually have the best selection of KA flours) and some times Food Lion grocery stores in our area.

No problem substituting AP flour for the WWW.  I really love the WWW and my first bag was free with a coupon King Arthur sent me.  If it weren't so expensive I'd use it all the time.  Most of my grocery stores have it and  I think there are other brands besides King Arthur.

The whole idea of using white whole wheat flower is for the fiber.  You can substitute but you lose the fiber,.
