We are starting to get buds on our daffodils.  We had a cold spell, but now all we expect is rain.  That means more snow in the Sierra which is good as that is our  water supply.

Daffodils!!  Oh, how I love daffodils.  Where I used to live I had acres of places to plant.  Deer gobbled most of the tulips and hyacinths so I planted daffodils of every sort I could find everywhere I could.  Gorgeous!!

Barbara, is that a Sedum in front of the daffodils?  If so I am impressed, although people have told me it is easy to grow I have planted several and have had no luck getting them to grow well.

Thanks Barbara for the daffodil picture Really lovely and brightens up the day.
Mine are peeking up but certainly nowhere near ready to bloom.  Mid April is our usual time.

Yesterday, in the mail, I received a graph from the local electric compamy showing how much I paid in every month of 2009 and 2010.  Wow!  I need to turn off my heat.  Maybe, just maybe, I can afford a bit of air conditioning.

Nikki, I had to ask my husband what it was.(He's the gardner in the family) Anyway he said it is an azalea.

Azalea..another that I have had problems growing.
I just raked up the leaves that I put down over some of my plants in the fall and my daffodils are starting to pop up, they are about 1 inch tall.  The Hosta have not yet started and checking on my Tree Peony the buds are starting to swell a bit.  Now to start the search for a Fern Leaf Peony and the T-Rex Hosta I want.  Probably both more expensive than I want to spend so I will put them on my wish list.

Hopefully spring will be here soon. Pretty time of the year with all the plants and flowers blooming. Have to see what is safe for cats that I can plant indoors.

Nikki,  My cat, TIPPY sends you a fur hug as he loves the sponge grass!  He even tried carrying it to his bed!
