In Response to Re: Nut crusts:
I have a wonderful cookbook "From Four-and-Twenty Blackbirds to Basic Apple It's AS EASY AS PIE" by Susan G. Purdy and here is a recipe from the book. Nut: (Almond, Hazelnut, Brazil Nut, Walnut, Pecan, Peanut or a blend of them. 1 3/4 to 2 Cups ground nuts made from 1 pound shelled whole nuts. 1/4 Cup granulated sugar *Instead of added fat, you can process the nuts and sugar in the food processor until a paste forms. Pat the dough into the pie plate. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes. For a coconut crust: 2 Cups finely flaked coconut 4 Tb butter Combine. Pat into pie plate. Bake at 325 for 15 to 20 minutes or until a light golden brown.
