I live in Southern CA near San Diego and I have no problem with
Walmart taking internet coupons. I got an email from VBB with
the option of printing coupons. This was Feb 2 and it would not
let me print saying that I had already used my limit. It was Feb.
2. This has been happening for the last 3 months. I could have
used those coupons over the holidays.

I had trouble a few years ago, I sent an email to the headquarters(Meijer) & got a reply that the stores would take them, I printed out the reply & took it with me when I shopped (for about a year) & showed it every time a cashier said we do not take these.
If the stores you go to are private owned, try sending a complaint to the local newspaper or TV station(local news), I also print in color, but do it because it saves the black ink.

I printed VBB coupons in Nov. and have NOT been able to print more since then, I get the "you have already printed " pop up. Also for the past 5 days, this site hangs up. It is the only site that does, I can play games etc. but it take about 90 sec. for anything to load or go to another page etc.

I too have noticed more and more stores posting signs that they will not accept internet coupons especially for "free" items.  But Kroger has a program that allows you to download certain coupons to your shopper card from their website.  I think that may be to help combat the problem.

The only problem I've had here in Reno, NV is that the scanners do 'not' like darker colored paper and will not read them. (I have a lot of colored paper laying around from when my husband was alive or I made posters for a friend's business for weekend specials). On those coupons they have to manually inter the numbers, but they have still taken them.

If I use yellow, orange or white paper I've never had any problems at grocery stores scanners. The stores here will even honor the dbl your coupon day with them. All of our stores though are owned by families except for Albertson's. Save Mart who just took over Reno and most of CA franchises I'm not sure about. This last Holiday season I was able to get 6 free turkeys buy spending $25 at different stores of which I gave all but one (for me) to her 'Community Chest' that is a privately run food bank 365.25 days a year. Evelyn Mount is a wonderful woman I've known personally for 22yrs. Her organization I've been giving to her for 31yrs though, since I moved here. Until about 5yrs ago when some teenage boys decided to rob her a week before Thanksgiving she had 'always' left her garage door open all night. That way we shift workers could go do our shopping after work and she lived 2 blocks from my 24' store. I'd stop off and put my groceries on the correct shelf if I could, put the chilled items away and then she had a special freezer for the poultry/meat that needed to be defrosted still that were turned up so they could defrost and another couple of freezers for store bought desserts, vegetable and the such. She's now up to 13 refrigerators that have been donated to her that are brand new. The businesses' were going it for the promotion but with her 501-C they got to write them off.
Thankfully her dagger is helping out more as Evelyn had a bad stroke about 2yrs ago. Our husbands even died within a year of each other so we used to go to lunch when we could. They get mad at me as I refuse to put my name down b/c she needs to keep track of her inventory b/c of her 501-C paperwork for the Government. She's been doing this for almost 60yrs and with 2 husbands that have already gone Home before her. This year on Thanksgiving and Christmas she averaged on those 2 days that they had fed over 6,000 FAMILIES each day. Everyone forgets though she still feeds mostly the elderly every single day. On Christmas her bakers and cooks prepare a giant meal for our daily/weekly hotel/motel rental people. She'll find one place with a large banquet room who will donate the room for the day so the 2 streets mainly that are involved can all come together and eat like a big family.
My husband went home when I was 45yo, 2 weeks after Christmas. My Father kept telling me that I had to get rid of my Husband's items b/c I was holding on to him. I told him I was keeping them until November and he might as well be quiet about it or he could go back home, 350 miles away. My husband was disabled so he couldn't wear a suit. He had over 20 Cashmere Sweaters and Vests and about 50 neckties. All of these things cost over $100 each. I saw no reason to give them to some place that would sell them for maybe $5 and the people would not even know to appreciate what these were. I gave them to Evelyn to hand out to her regulars that would appreciate a cashmere sweater or a beautiful silk necktie as a holiday present along with their meal/s . My Father had just purchased me a new TV though mine still worked but he hated that the bright would not light up as much as he liked. I like to watch a dark TV plus sit in the dark to watch it and he didn't.
Evelyn's daughter and a male friend that year even came over to my house, since I am disabled, to p/u everything. Which included taking the 2 full family meals which I always purchase for her 501-C organization, the TV and all Chuck's nice clothes I'd kept for her packed away. I knew if she didn't give all the neckties away she'd have them delivered over to our Senior Citizen's Center about 1 mile away so they could use them to make quilts.

The only trouble I've even had was at a National Brand 'oil & lube' company. It was not the coupon you could get off our newspaper's website. They asked me where I got it from? I told them THEIR website. All 5 guys came in to check out their 'website' b/c they had never seen the coupon the National Co. had posted on there. It was $5 extra off the newspaper coupon they had installed in the 'coupon section'. You might check in your local newspapers also in they are on-line and see if they have a coupon section that you can print out. They are not normally grocery store coupons but when you have to smog your car every year it adds up they also put local deli type fast food coupons in there, at least here or ones for getting a free lube and oil change if you are buying tires and things like that.

I just printed out some in blk & white (greytone) instead of using colored toner on my new yucky printer (for the grocery store) that I'm ready to through into the garbage. I'll write back if that gives me any problems. This laser printer is so fussy (pkg deal) that if I use colored paper I have to program that in. Plain white copy machine paper I have to run on thin or it grabs 4-5 pieces of paper at at time. Since they sold me a 'wide screen' laptop I also have to print every thing in 'landscape' of I don't get the entire page.

I haven't done a large grocery shopping since prior to Thanksgiving. I also didn't have a printer for over a year. These new fancy lines and dots UPC code coupons may be the problem. If so, then we call the main Company and tell them of our problems. I've found out it may take me 3yrs to get through to them on certain things but only 1 company has ever refused me the information I need concerning my diet restrictions b/c of medications. When they reminded me to 'sign up for their website'. I replied to the woman directly that how would I have written her if I was not a member on her website. She needn't worry though b/c I was voiding my membership and I'd just have to remember what their foods tasted like 7yrs ago before I was diagnosed with a hereditary disease on my maternal side.

I don't shop at Walmart as the SuperWalmart with food is 10 miles away and the Walmart is only 1 mile away, which I rarely go to. It may be the fact that they need to be printed on a laser printer b/c of the ink difference. My new printer uses colored toner and my old one was a Xerox that used crayon type blocks. Problem is it was 4yo and the blue 'burner' (aka warmer) died and Xerox no longer made those burners as mine was the last model they made in their freecolorprinter.com for small business' that gave you free black ink blocks whenever you wished.. I couldn't find anyone who would jerry-rig it and bypass that burner, so I could still use the unit. In this day and age how does a machine that they charged the public $4K for become obsolete in 4yrs. I loved the ink, it never ran and it felt like real toner with raised lettering. Hope some of these ideas may have helped. In Reno we've never had a sign at any of our stores about faux coupons. That may be b/c though with all the casino's located in this state they may have a better quality of scanner. I've ever had Clerks not be able to enter the UPC code and still give me the coupon amount off. Wish I could be more help.

Hi Ladies!
I wanted to re read what we have written on coupons printed off the Internet.  I am still having problems here in Hayward WI.  Yesterday I went to buy romaine lettuce by Earthbound.  I had a $5.00 coupon from Earthbound.  My romaine lettuce cost $3.99.  They would NOT except the coupon cause it was OVER the amt!!!.  They wanted me to buy ANOTHER Earthbound product.  I didn't want anything except my romaine.  I had other purchases that they accepted coupons on.  Needless to say I didn't buy the romaine.  Go figure & this was a coupon from the manufacture!  Have any of you experienced something like this?

Lisa K., maybe you can print out all of our responses about stores in other towns who DO accept internet coupons, and yours will change their mind about them! I have no problem having my printed coupons accepted anywhere I use them here in Los Angeles County. I'm now shopping more at my Target because they have expanded the grocery department, and they accept coupons gladly. Last week I used 17 coupons there!

Most coupons usually state up to 5.00 dollars. I have had to explain coupons to a lot of cashiers. Sometimes I take them to the office and explain the problem. I have run into cashier that asked me what is this? My reply is what does it look like? They call someone over to ask what to do. They are told to accept the coupon.

I occassionally have trouble with stores taking internet coupons.  I try not to use too many of them.  One of the cashiers at Giant Eagle told me last week that they are changing their policy on internet coupons and will be limiting them to two per household because there is so much abuse of them.

Hi Maxine! Yes, Target gives me my 5 cents/bag! I've been using my own cloth bags for about 25 years...little ahead of the game! Until recently and bring-your-own-bag gained momentum, I've actually had "baggers" complain to me because they don't stand up on their own or hang on the plastic bag rack easily. I just told them I was saving the environment for their future! And now, Los Angeles County has banned plastic bags altogether, and some stores are charging customers 10 cents/bag if they don't bring their own.

There are times our stores refuse internet coupons.  They say it is because some coupons that people try to use are counterfit.

I have so many issues with internet coupons...either I can't find or the store won't take.  Most that I've found lately have expired yet the website still lists as available so if you don't watch the expiration date, the store will reject.  I also know that the coupons & their limit varies upon state.  I don't get deals like the Extreme Coupon shows.
