In Response to Re: Doing things ahead.:
When I make out my shopping list for the week,I put on there what I need of course and any coupon items on sale.I either put them in an envelope with the items written on the envelope and the coupons in the envelope,or a list and the coupons clipped on front with a big chip clip.I don't always get to the store if the weather is bad, then my son and husband go.I arrange the list and the coupons according to the store layout, starting in produce and ending in the dairy, that way there is no back tracking. It takes up a lot less time. Then we quickly go though the coupons and pull out anything that wasn't bought. We then go through the checkout and the items are in order according to the coupons, which makes it easier for the cashier, again saving time and the cashiers really do appreciate this. Then off we go!I leave my cloth grocery bags in the car that way they are always there and ready to go.

Gale, you have just described EXACTLY how I grocery shop, except my husband would never attempt to go to the grocery store for me, much less use coupons!!! I can't believe there's someone else so organized!! How fun! I've been shopping this way for 40 years, and have always challenged myself to save 50% on the grocery bill by using coupons, sale items, and store discounts. And I get really ticked when they rearrange things in the aisles.
