This is for those of us with little counter space.Why not set up your ironing board and cover with a clean cloth,place your cooling racks on the board you have just set up a place to cool your cookies and cakes freeing up valuable counter space.

Use a large salt shaker to keep flour in for dusting your cake pans.

Boy I just can't sleep tonight so here's one more.When working with ground beef, making patties,meatballs ETC.keep your hands wet and the ground beef will not stick to your hands.OK good night !

Brown sugar keeps SOFT FOREVER if you leave it in the original bag. Once I use some, I secure the bag with a rubber band and place it in one of those large plastic coffee containers (Folgers....Maxwell House).

Lettuce stays fresh longer if you wrap it securely in paper toweling and place it in a good sturdy plastic bag. Woosh the air out of the bag, seal securely.....FRESH LETTUCE for sometimes a week!

Fresh herbs stay fresher longer if stored with the stems in water and the top of the container covered with a plastic bag to keep in moisture. Change the water regularly. I do this with fresh parsley. Be careful not to knock it over in refrig! I use a plastic cup so that if it should fall, there will only be water to clean up.

To remove the core from iceberg lettuce,place both hands firmly on the top of the lettuce and slam the core down on the counter,the core should just come right out when pulled.

Store your jars of spices away from the kitchen range -- they shouldn't be exposed to heat.
And they shouldn't be exposed to light.
