In Response to Re: DID YOU KNOW?:
Any suggestions about the type of plastic container? My sister keeps her flour in a plastic container with a snap on lid (big name brand, too). She still found bugs in the flour. Sure changed our plans for dinner that night. In Response to Re: DID YOU KNOW? :

Jean, the eggs are often in the flour or grain product. Storage in a plastic container will assure that the bugs don't leave the flour or rice and migrate to another product. So you are not so much preventing them from getting in as you are preventing them from getting out.
One of the biggest "culprits" is birdseed. The birdseed is often not heat treated so eggs will survive for some time.
