I have tasted them made this way and I liked them - just the tiniest hint of orange - goes really well with the chocolate!

I've tried it too ..... I didn't think it was awful or anything like that - I just didn't like it very much.
Andy, I don't think you will be certain until you make it yourself.

Hi Andy,  The great thing about Chocolate Chip cookies is they are so versatile.  Almost anything you want to mix in would taste good.  I mean get real what's not to like about chocolate chips.
Try a very little bit of cayenne pepper mixed in for a little kick.  Try a bit of cinnamon, cinnamon gose well with chocolate.  A sprinkle of coarse sea salt will bring out more flavor.
I have found on this site a recipe for a Chocolate tart that has a hint of rosemary.  That got me to thinking about all the other things that go well with chocolate.
It's things like this that give us "permission" to play with our food.
So go and invent your own chocolate chip cookie you may very well be famous one day.

Chocolate chip cookies are one of my kids favourite cookies and they ask me to make it atleast once a month. This year for thank you gifts we had prepared cookie bouquets, it is not that simple to make and you need to spend a lot of time baking those cookies. But I think it is a ideal gift and kids love them. Now a day's it is also available online so its up to you if you have time to make it or just shop for it.

I love orange and chocolate together. (Anyone remember an orange jellied candy stick dipped in dark chocolate?) I just might try adding fresh zest to my next batch and see how others react.
