WHAT IS PUMPKIN PUREE? I KNOW IT IS NOT THE SAME AS PUMPKIN PIE MIX. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT COMPANY SELLS IT? OR HAVE A RECIPE TO MAKE SOME FROM SCRATCH?..I WANT TO TRY A RECIPE I FOUND IN THE PAPER .PUMPKIN RICE PUDDING.
           COMBINE- 2 CUPS COOKED RICE
                          3 CUPS REDUCED-FAT MILK
                          1 CUP PUMPKIN PUREE
                          3/4 CUP HONEY
                          3/4 TEASPOON CINNAMON
                          1/4 TEASPOON EACH GINGER,NUTMEG AND SALT
                          BAKE AT 375*F OVEN FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES. STIR WELL, THEN CHILL FOR 8 HOURS BEFORE SERVING

                      SOUNDS GOOD.....SO LET ME HEAR FROM MY FELLOW BAKERS.

It's just canned pumpkin. Should be next to the pumpkin pie mix or the canned fruit. You just have to make sure you pick up "pumpkin".

Purchase a fresh pie pumpkin. Clean the pumpkin hull ( the outside of the pumpkin) with a clean cloth and clean water. Cut the pumpkin in half. Use a large spoon remove all the seeds. Put the pumpkin cut size down on a cookie sheet. place in stove oven.
Bake at 325
The hull will be soft to push in with the thumb. Wear oven gloves.
Remove from oven be carefull . Wear oven gloves.
Turn pumpkin half over. Use large spoon to remove Pulp. Be careful. It is Hot.
Place in blender/food processor. Make puree, still hot.
Strain liquid.
Pumpkim Puree
Follow recipe.

Hey Julie,
I do not have a clue.The recipe sounds good.maybe i will try it, seems simple.I will use boil a bag rice, easiest for me. I may even toss in some nuts. Thanks.

Next to the pumpkin pie cans, you should fine pumpkin puree. I love the Libbey brand; but have used the store brands as well. Hope you find it. That recipe sounds great, by the way!

Libby pumpkin puree is all I know its all I've eber used . never used pumpkin pie mix just doesn't taste like my mom's pumpkin
pie made from Libby's pumpkin puree adding my own spices and a can of carnation milk .

It does sound yummy! You can use a pumpkin pie spice blend too. It is the same ingredients, just in one jar. My kids use to love it in oatmeal and instead of plain cinnamon for cinnamon toast!
