Getting them sharp again will be great...Now, does anyone have an idea about getting husband to put them away after he has used them?

Use a long piece of string.
Attach one end of the string to location of scissor storage. Attach the other end to either your husband or the scissors. That way neither can wander very far from storage location.

Gale - all of my scissors get BAD treatment. I must have more than a doz scissors and they are a mess*. Your aluminum foil method of sharpening is WONDERFUL. Thank you.

*of course I wouldn't use my good sewing scissors for rough stuff .... they stay sealed up in my ~shudder~ sewing box and are as sharp as the day I bought them. lol

Thanks for the tip Gale. I will have to try this since the kitchen scissors really get a workout. Someone on another site said she cuts Brillo pads with the scissors to sharpen them, not too keen on getting all that soap all over though.
