In Response to Re: Whats the most popular dessert dish in the USA?:
Nikki - I agree with you about making chocolate pecan pie - my favorite, but I also add a bit of bourbon to kick it up a bit. I had this for the first time quite a few years ago and have enjoyed it many times since then. Unfortunately, I am the only in our family to enjoy pecan pie and I refuse to eat a whole pie by myself, so I tend to only make this when going to friends' homes for dinner and I bring this.

Same here. No one else likes Pecan Pie. When I wanted some I would have to go to a place like Bakers Square and buy 1 slice. I just can't bring myself to make one and be the only one to eat the pie.
I have made the pie, just the filling and poured the filling into muffin pan that way I have just the crunchy pecan part and no crust. I line the muffin pan with liners so they come out of the pan easily. After all the best part or the Pecan Pie is the filling who wants to waste the calories on the crust!
