Today; Tuesday; Business” downtown” , again. We tried another restaurant tfor lunch. It was very windy& eating  in  the place next door meant  no dealing w/wind-chill factor on the way to lunch; great choice… They’ve been there82 years & today’s experience demonstrated why: We were seated in a sunny window seat ( great for people watching) The food was great: NOON: ME: Mediterranean plate: spanokopita (Greek spinach pie) bakedinthetraditional way; not fried( the modern, easy way) herbed boneless chicken breastPasta salad( packed to go) Greek salad w/ a light creamy parmesean dressing( on the side)LemonadeHE: Mediterranean pizza: flatbread pizza w/grilled eggplant, sundried tomatoes, caramelized onions, mozzarella& feta cheeseIt came w/ an unexpected bonus of a Greek salad. We  both love salad greens & these were so noticeably fresh& excellent. Hubby got all the peperoncini peppers& black olives,I got most of the greens. He had coffee in a large mug refilled as often as needed. The place was only half full & was surprisingly quiet.  DINNER:: something light;lunch was quite” satisfying though not overly muchOatmealHot cocoa

Charlene - welcome to VBB.  Canned green beans?  My goodness, isn't that a lot of work?!  I have canned lots of tomatoes and tomato juice and 'tried' to can strawberry preserves.  I've never done any of the difficult stuff.

Please tell us about your dog..... We all love to chat (brag!!) about our pets.

Oh Gale -- can I come with you?  Wink
Here there's a really, really good Mexican restaurant just up the road - their food is great BUT it's
very dark in there.  I carry a book with me wherever I go.

Hi Nancy, sure you can come with us,that would be fun. This place we go to is very nice and it is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten, not greasy at all and the flavors are wonderful. This place is getting rave reveiws.I just hope they never close. So many of our favorites have closed because of the economy,it's a shame.
