Got a meatball sub from Subway. I WALKED THERE AND BACK. It felt so cool to be able to walk a block and back. Still took the cane but just for support if needed. I know it is estimated 6-8 weeks for complete healing so I will take it easy for awhile longer. I would love to be able to start really cooking again.

Tonight was a light dinner for me.  Had red peppers and a dip I made with some chickpeas and Greek yogurt.  A low fat take on hummus.  My husband wanted hot dogs.
I will make a berry smoothie later for a desert.  Frozen berries and yogurt and a few ice cubes tossed in the mixer.

Nancy, The Mexican bean salad has black, kidney, and cannellini beans, frozen corn, jalapeno, red
bell pepper, red onion, cilantro, garlic and then the dressing has 12 items in it. It is very colorful and
has a bite to it. If you are still interested in the recipe I will post it. It has a total of 20 items in it so it
is rather long but I can type pretty fast. I love the three bean salad too. Hubby is taking a bowl to work
on Tuesday to show the other guys how colorful it is and let them taste it. He loves the salad too.

Since cabbage was on sale, I bought 3 heads. I made coleslaw with 1/2 of one & then made a large batch of cabbage soup with the 1/2 & a whole head, lots of onions, was stingy with the bell peppers (store had them for $2.49 # this past week so I did not buy any) tomatoes & then I decided to toss in the rest of the sauerkraut from the reubens. I had the soup & later yogurt ; hubby had Dinty Moore stew(he really likes it) coleslaw  & I made him a few deviled eggs
