ok      I paid my prop taxes and went to the store

I've been craving nachos   and saw an ad for taco bell's       ltd special       XXSTEAK NACHOS
so I tried that      it is a very large  serving for 4.99        but I knew I couldn't finish it all
I put aside a lot of the chips and managed to get  the beans, cheese, fajita steak \, sour cream, pico de gallo and lettuce down     it wouldn't re-heat well

It is my husband's birthday, so we are going out to dinner.  For Breakfast I fixed him bacon, a cheese omelet, homemade cinnamon rolls, and fresh fruit.  He was pretty happy!

GRANA here;After over a week's effort we found a reduced cost  source for a new Rxssving $600 yr Hubby went grocery shopping for milk, eggs, oats & other necessities($28; we went out for lunch (Japanese) We both had shrimp& veggie tempura BENTO  BOXES : miso soup w/ tofu; salad, shrimp tempura( batter fried) w/ veggies gies( steamed & tempura style( broccoli, yams, eggplant .including rice&  hot tea ( $10pp) best food value in town; clean quiet great service across the parking lot where my eye dr did a procedure" today  hoping to alleviate my dry eyes costing less over time than those eye drops needed 4 x daily.My corneas are scratched due to chronic"dry eyes" &  we hope to prevent further damage...my  vision has not changed in nearly30 yrs , still could  be a sight saver.; It was fast& painless but the lunch was  reward for   grocery hardship lately& my bravery during procedure. It was done under a "local" no pain or discomfort but once the numbing meds wore-off  I was  uncomfortable; OK now after hot compresses& eye lubricant.Cool
All surgeries can be scary but when it's
my eyes, much more so ;   going blind is horrifying to me. I fear rolling my wheelchair off a steep step & plunging into danger or traffic. Still wearing the same lenses eold frames) so this procedure could be a sight saver ; If my cataracts do not get any worse..hubby to has  cataracts &  one of his meds gives him him blurry vision at times, so he limits his driving to those times w/o those issues.It can be frustrating  for me when plans are cancelled, worse for  him being unable to be dependable This is why  he often walks or takes the bus to shop& do errands. So happy  we bought a place on the city y bus route nearly 30 years ago thinking ahead to our golden years years"
DINNER:
We shared a can of new England style clam chowder w/cornbread, hot tea& mince pie.
"bargains"bought before our financial "crisis brought about by cost of Rx. The chowder cost us $3.71 for6(lower sodium) cns ( club sale, using club& mfr coupons It is a soup we both enjoy and is often hard to find.; when we dio we stock up, especially  when bargain p riced like this was.Cool

GRANA here;
 FRIDAY;
NOON:
 s a celebrationof finding a lower cost source for my  newest Rx, saving over$600 yr,  hubby went out& bought much needed milk,eggs& oats.Then we went to my fave Japanese reststaurant; across the parking lot from the eye doc who did a sight saving procedure on my eyes.It was done under a "local" but when that ore off Iwas uncomfortable for awhile...OK now after hot compresses& eye lubricant.
we both had BENTO BOXES( complete meals w/ miso soup , salad, batter fried shrimp& veggies ( eggplant, yams, broccoli, also steamed veggies: carrots, broccoli7 an unknown Japaneseveggie that was very good..We had a fried chicken appetizer, steaed rice for $10pp.The place is clean quiet& has good service, We've not been there for several years&  though the original  owner has left; the place& menu are very much the same as it was for20 years.
"WHY MESS w/ PERFECTION?'Wwe both missed the geisha style servers but our caucasion waiter  in white shirt& tie was pretty good too.I've had miso soup all over   North America & like the one this placeserves the best.Miso soup is said to havwet the same e probiotic qualities of yogurt& I'm supposed to  try to replenidsh them since I ha thse IV anti biotyics in the hospital.Too bad we can't write  of the meal as a medical expensebt I'm just grateful to have been ablet to enjoy the meal w/ hubby We both missed THE GEISHA style servers , today but the caucasuion waiter took good care of us.

I decided that since it is Chinese New Year we would go to "our" little Chinese restaurant down the street.  The owner is so sweet when we come in.
I brought her a card and a bottle of wine I had been given (I'm not a wine drinker) and wished them a Happy New Year....well we went home with more food than we had ordered! She gave us Egg Rolls and who knows what else is in the bag that I put in the refrigerator.  I will not have to cook all weekend!  I might have to make rice but maybe not.  I happen to like noodles with my Chinese food so hubby may have the leftover rice and I might make some noodles. They do say noodles should be eaten for a long life.....

I made some Raspberry bars to bring to a neighbor that helped move some snow from the end of the driveway so we will have a few of those as well.

My husband is making a quiche for us for dinner tonight. While he's doing that I'll make a spinach salad with mandarin oranges for me and strawberries for him.  We worked together earlier today on making a bundt cake, so that will be dessert.
