Niki, my husband loves rice pudding also. His mom made them hot rice cereal in the mornings when he was a kid. She just cooked regular rice in milk and added vanilla, sugar, cinnamon and sometimes raisins. He likes it a bit runny. Funny thing though, he doesn't really like rice!!
I do and can make a meal out of it. I use both the regular and the instant and frequently for my lunch, I will put on water for the instant and add a chicken bouillion cube, 1/2 tsp. dried parsley, 1 tsp. dried onion & sometimes a dash of garlic powder. I use the 1 cup recipe on the instant rice and it is so good with the herbs.  If you have a half cup or less of left over chicken, shred it and add to the rice with about 1/2 cup more water and you will have a nice, filling meal for yourself or enough for two if you add a side salad.

Thanks Gale...I need them!  I hope it's not serious too...believe me, I will be glad to know what is what!   There are two problems going on, the one I will know when I get the test next week.  The other, I must see the specialist first and then have a procedure performed, then I will know then what is going on with that problem.  Gee whiz, It's always something!

Thanks again Gale, I am happy that I met you here on VBB along with some others!  Isn't it great?!

G-r-r-r-r more snow.  Saturday mornings I always go to church and clean.  I'm so glad I went last night to get it done before the snow.
I think I'll just get some soup out of the freezer .... sounds good on such a cold, snowy day.

Wa Ha, It's funny that in this country we really don't think of rice as a breakfast.  But it is very warming and makes a good breakfast.  I still can't figure out how my Grandma made her rice pudding.  I have tried all sorts of ways and it just isn't the same.  Funny how memories are!

Susan, I hope everything is alright.  Will say a prayer and keep you in my thoughts.

For us a very light dinner, we had a big lunch.
Tomorrow we will have a beef barley soup I made today.  Always better the next day.
Will be served with a multi grain bread.

Hi Gale, You are going to make your own spaetzle!! Wow!! I cheat!!! I got some in
MI and put them in my suitcase and took back to CA. My hubby is German and he
really loves his German noodles!!! We have spaetzle with real butter and swiss
cheese. Totally wicked!!!! Sooooo Many Calories. How do you have yours?

Hi Carol, I make them with my Chicken Paprikash. That is what we are having today.I make the spaetzle a head of time a whole lot less work when that's all you are making.I have two different spaetzle makers, one you crank and the other slides back and forth. This beats standing over the hot water and cutting them off the plate by hand. They were both made in Austria,You could probably find them in an ethnic store and make your own.I prefer the one that slides back and forth. We eat them with just butter too,but the swiss sounds real good ,I have some here. I'll have to try that it sounds good.I make a gallon size freezer bag full so my son can take some home too! I'm Hungarian and we call them nokedli, noodles.I call them GOOOOOOD !
