Tonight was a soup night again for me, "Light" Clam Chowder.  I can't bring myself to call it a REAL "Chowdah" since it is "light" so says the Progresso can.
A pizza for my hubby.  He, for some reason ,likes the little pizzas.  The real inexpensive ones that look more like an overgrown cracker with toppings on it.  Me, if I'm gonna have a pizza I want a REAL pizza!
Any way it's back out to the drive way to clear more of the driveway.

Homemade chicken and smoked sausage filet gumbo. I put it on this am in the slowcooker/crockpot and when I walked in tonight, oh my it smelled good! All I had to do was fix a pot of steamed rice and I cheated and used instant. Once the broth from the gumbo was mixed with it, you couldn't really tell if it was fresh rice or instant. Sure was warming to the stomach and the soul.

I love a good Gumbo.  I just may make that for this weekend.  Along with some of my cheddar jalapeno corn muffins.  Very warming meal.  A bit of shopping for a few ingredients and I am all set.  Thanks for the idea Wa-Ha K.
And any leftover rice..rice pudding maybe?  Or years ago my husband had me make a "breakfast" with leftover rice.  May do that this weekend. Sort of an odd meal but once I tried it very good. His mom used to make it so not sure if it is a Czechoslovakian dish or not.
Melt some butter in a skillet, add the cold cooked rice and cinnamon and sugar.  That's it!  I like to get it a little golden in color then add the cinnamon and sugar.  Could almost do that for a dessert.

I went out for a great breakfast with friends and tonight will be the usual 'Thursday' night out with a friend.  She and I weren't confident enough to drive on these roads last night so we're trying it tonight
