Yes, Susan -- it's your TANGY BARBECUE SANDWICHES recipe .... 3:44 PM here and I just removed the roast from the liquid, shredded it and put it back in the pot. OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  it's GOOD. I made cole slaw to go with it .... I have toasted buns waiting in the freezer (I always toast a whole pkg at one time - stick in freezer and they are ready to go when I want one)  Going to be a great dinner.  Thanks to you !!

Hi Gale....

Wow...what a feast you all had!  That is great how you all get together like that, sounds like a lot of fun!  Now Gale, did you really think your taco dip would not be a hit; with the way you cook and bake it was a winner!  :')

I have an avacado ripening on my counter .... I wish that would hurry up.
With the terrible storm moving in tonight I am happy to have lots of milk, bread, eggs - staples like that -
but the most important things are cat food and litter!

Nancy, put the avocado in a brown paper bag.  It may ripen faster, even if it doesn't you won't be constantly reminded of it every time you walk past.
For dinner tonight I am doing a slow roasted pork, put a rub on it last night, stuck it in the oven this morning.  BBQ sauce, don't know what sides I will do yet.  Left over will be used for BBQ Pork fried rice tomorrow.

Hi Nancy ,Nikki is right but if you want to ripen it faster but an apple or a tomato in the bag with it .If you don't have a paper bag you can also use news paper.

Nikki, have you made them at home? This is from a newspaper article and they are good.

Cheddar Cheese Biscuits
2 ½ cups Bisquick baking mix
3/4 cup cold milk
4 Tablespoons cold butter (1/2 stick)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 heaping cup of grated cheddar cheese

Brush on top:

2 tablespoons melted butter

1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

a pinch of salt

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

2. Combine Bisquick with cold butter in a medium bowl using a pastry cutter or a large fork. You don't want to mix too thoroughly. There should be small chunks of butter in there that are about the size of peas. Add cheddar cheese, milk, and ¼ teaspoon garlic. Mix by hand until combined, but don't over mix.

3. Drop approximately ¼-cup portions of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet using an ice cream scoop.

4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until the tops of the biscuits begin to turn light brown.

5. When you take the biscuits out of the oven, melt 2 tablespoons butter is a small bowl in your microwave. Stir in ½ teaspoon garlic powder and the dried parsley flakes. Use a brush to spread this garlic butter over the tops of all the biscuits. Use up all of the butter. Makes one dozen biscuits.

I have the recipe from  "Top Secret Restaurant Recipes: Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits"
I have not made them because I usually do not have Bisquick in the house.  It contains Trans Fats and I try to avoid them.  I try not always successful though!  I have made biscuits "the old fashioned way" and they are good.

Thanks for posting the recipe I am sure there will be a lot of the biscuits being made thanks to you.  Sounds like we are in for a whopper of a storm so soup or stew and biscuits will be a great belly warmer.
