I had forgotten that today is a 'special' day .... New Years Eve!!
Well, I'm off to church to do more painting - When I get home I'll be starving so I need to remember to get something out of the freezer before I go. Ham cabbage soup?

roast pork with sauerkraut,I added an apple to sweeten it up a bit,smoked kolbasi,mashed potatoes,I'm not doing the pork chops too much food yesterday.

I came home from cleaning at the church STARVING. I went ahead and made my dinner of pork chops, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes ..... absolutely delicious! It was so good and I made so much - I think when dinner time rolls around I'll eat even more.

Nothing too hard,tired from all the holiday cooking.Slaw dogs with homemade coleslaw and french fries,toll house pan cookie for desert.

It is a hot dog with coleslaw on top,you can put what ever else you like on them.Some people put chili,mustard,ketchup,onions whatever besides the slaw.This is my favorite junk food I love them with coleslaw and ketchup,it might sound gross but it's not.You can make slaw burgers too.Both are also served on a bun.Yum yum.These were invented in West Virginia.

Not cooking tonight- Have a shrimp cocktail ring (on sale!)- yummy with garlic crackers, soft brie and a little cocktail sauce. mmmmm
Then hubby is back to New Jersey for 2 weeks in the morning :(. At least I eat lighter when he's not home- bonus after the holidays, I suppose.

Fixed chicken breest with peppers and onions, fried rice and green beans. Good meal for a change. Haven't been feeling well for a while so it was nice to be able to fix dinner for myself again without falling in pain and spending time on the floor.

I just found out you cannot spell chicken "breest" correctly. I guess they think it's a dirty word and can't trust us to behave.

I just tried bre-_st of chicken & got the message to change the word (LOL) soooo here it is br_ast of chicken,. Gee VBB you need an exterminator to get rid of the bugs.

Hi Nancy,You don't know what you are missing,I don't love hot dogs and I don't love coleslaw,but I sure love slaw dogs,they were invented in West Virginia because some people just didn't like sauerkraut.It is very popular in some of the other southern states as well.My daughter in law lived in North Carolina and she said they and slaw burgers were equally popular.I will try mixing a little coleslaw in my potatoes the next time because I'm always willing to try something new because you never know it just might be great.I would love to be a judge on the Iron Chef,because I'll try anything once,don't get me wrong I'm no Andrew Zimmer,I do have limits.I've eaten some different things, such as sashimi (raw fish) not a big fan,but I wouldn't have known if I hadn't tried it.

lol lol -- Gale, I won't eat COOKED fish so there's no chance I'll ever try ~shudder~ raw.
Matter of fact ..... I think my list of won't-eat-foods should just say "Nothing that has ever been wet".

I won't eat wild animal like deer or rabbit or squirrel .... I won't eat lamb .... I won't eat cheese ... whew.

Left overs this way. I buttered and toasted sliced french bread and heated up some of my French Pulled Beef with a bit of horseradish sauce, layered it on the toasted bread, topped it with thinly sliced onions and mozzarella and stuck it in the microwave to melt the cheese. Very good and filling.

Gale, your slaw dogs sound good. I love hotdogs with saurkraut too.
