Pork tendeloin marinated in balsamic vinegar, garlic and oil to be done on the grill.  Creamed potatoes - cooked and in a cream sauce with cheddar cheese, some other vegetable yet to be determined, rolls, peach pie and lemon merangue (SP?).  You guessed it, we're having company tonight

Please, Bakery -- tell me the recipe for your pork tenderloin marinade ............ balsamic vinegar - wow!!     Because my pork is just slow cooking in BBQ sauce  - this sounds like a recipe I must have.

We're going out for burgers and shakes tonight - a meal laden with calories but worth it!  With the high heat and humidity here and all of the garden work that I need to do this week I am hoping that I burn off the extra calories!

ROSEMARY PORK TENDERLOIN

1-2 pounds pork tenderloin
1 Tbs balsamic vinegar or lemon juice
2 tsp salt (I use half that much)
2 Tbs olive oil
1 tsp rosemary, chopped fine
Crushed garlic to taste

(I usually double this marinate, especially if using 2 pounds of meat.

Put marinate in zip lock bag, add meat and marinate at least 1 hour - I prefer to marinate overnight.  Grill and enjoy!

Ahhhhhhhhhh - thank you, Bakery --
Right now my tummy is full of my own bbq pork and your recipe is making me hungry!
I will try this soon -

I will not find any fresh rosemary -  I assume I can use dried??
........................................

My own BBQ pulled pork was "good" - just not great.  I have tons of it all bagged and in the freezer.

I'm sure dried would be good, as well, but you might want to use a little less.  Not sure if rosemary is like other spices but they are usually stronger when dried.

We're having a big salad for dinner this evening.  I have a bunch of mixed greens, thanks to the farmers market, and I'll add some fresh fruit along with some slivered almonds.  It's so hot that our appetites have diminished and something cold is so refreshing.  I think we'll forget our after dinner walk tonight and stay inside and play a board game.

Thank you for this great sounding recipe. For some reason pork tastes great with vinegar. When I make pulled pork I  don't put BBQ sauce after cooking on all of it I hold some back for myself and sprinkle a little apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper and I'm good to go.

Look for recipes for Carolina BBQ sauce.  The Carolina style of sauces are much more vinegary than other sauces.
You might even want to look for a Carolina White Sauce I think it's called.  I will check and let you know if the term is not correct.

Alright...I did a quick check and it is Alabama White Sauce.
this recipe I found makes a large batch.
1 Quart mayonnaise
3/4 Qt apple cider vinegar
1/2 Cup sugar
1/4 Tb cayenne
1/4 Tb horseradish
1/4 Tb lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
Process all in a large blender.  You may have to do it in 2 batches.

Another recipe for the same sauce...
1 1/2 Cups mayonnaise
1/3 Cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tb sugar
2 Tb Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste.
Process all until well blended.

The Carolina Sauces are vinegar based but do not have the mayonnaise that makes these the white sauce.

Isn't it amazing how every region developed different sauces that used ingredients that were most common. And enhanced the meat that was most commonly used in the region.
