Last night we went for our Chef's Dinner for 8 that we won for a raffle ticket we bought to support the local symphony.  We had a lobster and shrimp martini appetizer, wilted lettuce and bacon salad, whole roasted medium rare beef tenderloin filet, sliced potatoes with truffle oil, asparagus, and a trio of miniature desserts on a small platter consisting of creme brulee, bramdy Alexander and white chocolate truffle with lemon.  It was all wonderful.  Tonight - leftovers!

I think I am going to make soup, it is a bit chilly today and soup sounds good.
So dinner...soup and sandwiches.

Look at Nestles recipe for Santa Fe Apple Pumpkin Soup  ........
do you think it sounds as good as potato soup?

I looked at the recipe.
It looks very good however I think I would change a few things.
The use of cream, apple nectar and quite a bit of sugar seems like it is adding calories.
I think I would cook pumpkin and real apples together and maybe use a bit of apple juice.
Pumpkin is so sweet anyway I would cut back a bit on the brown sugar.
I would add just a bit of cream to each serving as a "decoration" and to round out the flavor.

I have made pumpkin soup before and I like it very much.

If you are not sure you would like pumpkin soup next time you make your potato soup use sweet potatoes rather than white potatoes.  You will get sort of the same sweet flavor with the sweet potatoes.

I think the last pumpkin soup I made had peanut butter in it as well...talk about adding a few extra calories.  (It was not much peanut butter though)

Thank you...I do hope things will go well.
None to soon either she is due to have the baby any time in the next few weeks.  I don't think she would like it but I almost hope the baby will hold off until my husbands birthday.  I think it would be awesome to have the same birth date..
I will keep you posted..... both on baby news and mending of relationships.
