Hi Laura, welcome to the boards.  Maybe you've been here before and I've just missed you.  Congratulations on your decision to undergo the weight-loss surgery.  A good friend also had a weight-loss type of surgery.  She has done very well.  Take it easy through the upcoming holidays and be well.

Hi Laura and welcome.
Congrats on the surgery and the major step that it took.  I do hope things are going well for you.  Best thing about this site is if you need any encouragement at all just let us know. This is a great group of people and I get plenty of ((hugs)) and encouragement. We all have something going on in our lives that once in a while we need a bit of both.

I had a couple of baked sweet potatoes, which I chopped in chunks, and some cheese and garlic tortellini, which I boiled for a few minutes, then I tossed both in some butter in a frying pan and topped with a bit of parmesan cheese and black pepper. Surprisingly good!

((( Nellie ))) My heart and prayers are with you --- wishing you the best.

I go into the hospital for the next MRI of my head in a couple of weeks.  I was terrified of MRIs when it all started, but I've had so many and gotten so accustomed to it that now I sleep through them .... 45 minutes of that clashing and banging and I'm sound asleep.

Nellie -- I have my MRIs done in a giant, very busy hospital but they still act like I'm their only important patient.  I tell them that I hate their crashing and booming and I get ear plugs.   I might be unable to do this without those precious things.
Could I suggest that you take some of your own in case they don't have any?   And it's possible that they will play music for you.

Nellie I hope all goes well with the CT scan.

Nancy I hope all goes well with your MRI

I feel left out I have no scans scheduled...had an X-Ray the other day does that count? ..Root canal in my very near future

Nellie...I requested the persone be banned when I reported the spam.  I suppose a phone call or the chat line might get a faster response.

Nikki -- I'll take a CT, MRI or PET any day instead of a root canal.

Maybe sleep is my way of 'protecting' myself.  First time I had a PET I was asleep before it started.  So next time I planned on paying attention so I could learn something.  Again I was fast asleep before it started.

Nellie, thinking of you as you go through the CT scan.  Nancy, thinking of you as you thinking about your up-coming MRI.
