Cold fried chicken for dinner tonight.  Spent too much time at the Immediate Care Center which was anything but "immediate".

Nellie - the potato soup is my NEXT crock pot attempt.  This time I made the polish sausage/cabbage soup.  It was super.  I'm so glad to have some to stick in the freezer.  I simply have to buy a bigger freezer.

I'm having surgery tomorrow morning, so I'm supposed to eat a light supper.  Maybe some soup, I'm not sure.

then we had to go to walmart for freezer paper   so we had sandwiches at quizno's

Nellie and Nancy - Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.  The surgery went fine, although I felt the last 5 minutes of it more than I wanted to.  I have a macular hole (at the back of the retina of the eye) and have to keep my head down for the next 3 weeks.  I find it so amazing the wonderful options we have to assist in "fixing" different things that can and do go wrong with the human body.

On a lighter note, my husband picked up my favorite dish from Noodles for dinner tonight.

Ann - It's good to hear from you again.  Will you be able to go home soon?  Hospital "food" is so interesting at times, isn't it?  I do hope that your recovery continues and that you will be able to keep in touch more easily.

Tomorrow evening I'm taking dinner to a great family which has been having much trouble and concern.   I'm making a beef stew, broccoli salad, lots of cookies and a loaf of cheese bread.
