Now fried cabbage and noodles sounds wonderful to me but if only my husband would eat it. It's just the two of us, so I don't make it but I do get it when we go out to eat! I love cabbage!

Tonight I made Tuna fish salad sandwiches w/chips on the side.

My husband will eat cabbage but not a big fan I could eat it everyday.Now he would love your tuna sandwiches.Tonight will be homemade spagetti sauce over spagetti of course,tossed salad and garlic bread.Fresh fruit salad for desert.

Hi Susan,Homemade scrapple,I haven't made that in years,that is just good down home cooking.I have been thinking of making that not too long ago.Would you share your recipe? I made that from a recipe of Jeff Smith's the frugal gourmet.

I get off easy tonight! I am going to a gathering of friends I used to work with. We try to get together every year. This time we decided that it will be "Sweets and Treats" rather than a meal and then dessert. After all every one just stood around the kitchen nibbling and then eating the sweets.
I am taking a Cinnamon Apple Caramel Bundt cake and Cranberry Streusel Pie.
Making my husband get something on his own since I will be leaving around 3:00.
So no cooking or baking tonight!!

LEFTOVERS - the company from Christmas is gone, but there is still food in the fridge. Since it's just the two of us, it may be leftovers for several days. Then comes the calorie watching. Healthy, Happy, Prosperous New Year 2011 everone!!!

Last night I picked up a rotisserie chicken from Costco, so we had that, yukon gold potatoes quartered and tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper and rosemary and baked. We also had some green beans and left over cookies from Christmas.

Tonight? who knows right now,...maybe "lean cuisine" and a salad. I may get inspired later.

I didn' think anyone would know what scrapple is! lol Well, for one, this is something we would eat once in awhile because it is artery cloggers! I didn't make the scrapple, a local farmer made it and gave us a piece. You can always tell the difference between homemade and store bought scrapple. I can tell you how I prepare it and some people eat it with syrup or ketchup on it! Sorry I couldn't tell you the recipe! I do know that it takes a long time to make it and the ingredients is pork, beef, cornmeal, flour, salt & pepper.

Hi Susan I know that I cooked the pork and it had salt, pepper onion sage and water which became the broth,I shredded the meat and added it back into the broth and stirred in cornmeal the recipe I had didn't have beef in it,then it was poured into a loaf pan and put into the fridge and was completely cold then we sliced it and dipped in flour and fried until heated through and we did put maple syrup on it.It was very good but yes it is a once in awhile recipe because it is very fattening,but Oh so very good.I'm just going to find Jeff Smith's cook book or look on line for a recipe,but thanks for sharing anyway,I was thinking of making some soon because of the pork being on sale.It' been at least 15 years since I've made some and you reminded me.That's another old Farmer recipe using the whole pig.

Used the last of the ham, whole corn & peas in a cheesy scalloped potato casserole. Added a salad, pineapple & rolls (& cranberry sauce for me). Later hubby had strawberry cheesecake.

Happy New Year,tonight will be Shrimp cocktail,assorted cheeses and crackers,guacamole,nacho cheese sauce and tortilla chips.For dinner breaded shrimp,crab legs,baked potatoes,tossed salad and cheese cake with black berry topping.
