We had chicken stew for dinner tonight.  It was a cool, windy day today so this really hit the spot.

Not sure yet. Probably leftovers. I seem to be getting over some type of virus which made me speechless! (Laryngitis) and tired. Maybe husban will get something from store.

I've been fasting since last evening --- Dr. appt soon.  I'm HUNGRY!   I'll take myself out for a big breakfast when it's over.
Dinner tonight will be more salad.  I love that stuff.

Getting a break today.  Hubby suggests we go out for an early afternoon dinner so no lunch or dinner to fix!  We've been busy working around the house so this is going to be a welcome relief since I'm getting tired!  However, the windows are glistening and the laundry is done.

For tonight my Grandson has requested Stuffed Shells.
We did some shopping this morning and got cheese ends and some ricotta to make the filling.  I find the mix of cheeses gives a nice flavor.
We have some cookies in the oven.  A bit of an experiment of sorts.  We made sugar cookie dough and put half in a 9 inch square pan put a layer of caramel over that and scooped the rest of the dough on top.  No idea how it will turn out but how can it not be good?

We're going out to dinner tonight with our daughter - it's her birthday today - so it's anybody's guess what we'll be having.  But, we're having her favorite chocolate bundt cake for dessert!

I melted down some caramel bits I had from Fisher's Nut warehouse.  I added a bit of milk and some flour so it was pretty much the same as the ice cream topping we use for the Oatmeal Carmaelita Bars.
Left out nuts because my Grandson has yet to decide that nuts are good.
These bars are pretty darn good. I think they would be better with pecans or macadamia nuts.  I also think the addition of chocolate chips would enhance the flavor but all in all they sure will not be tossed out!  the next time I will make some modifications.
I can not wait until he decides that nuts are good.  That better be next year if my filbert bushes produce any nuts.

Thank you AGAIN.   I could think of adding a layer of caramel bits but adding some flour and milk ..... I'd never think of it.

I just got a recipe from a friend that has caramel in it I will post it under Chocoholics.  It is a great recipe gooey and "caramely" .......I think I just made up a new word!  The recipe does not call for nuts but when I make it I will be sure to add pecans I think it would add much more texture and flavor.

there's hope for your gs          3 wks ago after i took mine to our fav h.b. place after the orth. visit and tried to get him to try one of my onion rings  and it was a major turndown
then this past tues i took him for a hair-cut and to walmart to pick up everyone elses specials by price match       we stopped at  whatburger     and he asked if he could have half fries and half onion rings i was appalled the clerk said no          so i told her to give me onion rings instead           he ate over half of them
and of course he was totally non-commital  about this change

also for yrs i've been making my son separate batches of banana bread and pumpkin bread w/o nuts
and last yr he asked if i had any left   i told him it all had nuts        and he said it would be ok because he liked nuts
go figure!

Nellie -- thanks so much for the soup recipes you sent.  I'm going to take a deep breath and actually use my crock pot to COOK something... instead of just keeping it warm.   Of course, that means a trip to Walmart of buy the ingredients.  No thanks for that  ;^)
