Where do you get the pretzel ham and cheese sandwiches Susan? Love pretzels. We went to Applebee last night for Veteran's Day but wait was just too long so went next door to Kickback. However they did not offer anything special for military and vets. Every other place in town was but not them. Shame on them. They could have least gave a free beverage non alcoholic or dessert. Tonight will be soup and crackers.

Hi Sharon!

There is a local dairy that makes a ham and swiss cheese sandwich (lettuce/mayo/tom.) on a soft pretzel roll and then sticks them in a broiler until the cheese melts.  OMG are they yummy for your tummy!!  I can tell you that grocery stores sells the soft pretzel rolls and I make them at home.

I haven't been on the board for a few days...terrible week at work!  It's horrible when you have to work with someone that causes trouble.  Anyway here was this weeks menu;

Mon.  - Broiled Chicken breasts and couscous
Tues. - Breakfast for dinner
Wed. - Calif. Cheese steaks & fries
Thurs. - Broc. & Cheddar Rice mixed with browned hamburger
Tonight - Taco salad & Grilled ham/Cheese Sandwich

Today, Saturday

 

NOON: ginger chicken & veggie stir fry

 Jasmine or brown rice [choice]; hubbylovesJasmine& I prefer wholegrainbrown rice..hot  tea (choice)  
 Fresh orange

 Pineapple & asst melon chunks
 We arespposed to go theAsianmarket odayto seeifthey have BROWN JASMINE riceSmileHubby just dozed off on the couch, w/ 2 kitties covering him, so that task may be delayed, for another day. Frown

DINNER:

Chicke n noodle soup

 Cranberry-pecan toast w/butter

 Hot tea

 “ultimate” chocolate filled chocolate chip cookies, byNestle's; of course;     I "helped"Smile

 Hot tea

 Banana( shared)[ for a better night's sleep)

I'm making up dry ingredients for my X-MAS gifts, Gifts in a jar,I did a test run on one of the soups and it was very good.Homemade sausage too!

I  marinated Tilapia, Pork Loin and Turkey Cutlets . I later grilled the tilapia, pork loin and turkey cutlets on my charcoal grill.

I had one of my old time favorites .... something I haven't had for years.
Nice fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. .... plus a jelly bread!!! lol lol lol

NOON: calamari & shrimp sauté in EVOO; butter, garlic, crushed hot pepper flakes & Italian herbs

Linguine pasta ( myversion of scampi) hubby said "one of the  best dishes you've ever made" & he doesn't                  like scampiTongue out

 Zucchini sauté w/ carrots, mushroom,onions  & parsley;Italian herbs sprinkled on at the last moment

Hot tea
 Pudding cups w/ real whipped cream 

DINNER:

 Roast beef  &   cheese on  bread or wrapsPickled beets w/sweet onions
hot tea

Asst cookies( oatmeal scotchies w/ walnut halves & chocolate chip)

NOON: lunch out@ the neighborhood Greek restaurant

Small Greek salad. shared

 Optional: spanokopita (Greek spinach pie)

 Me:Lamb “lollipops”( mini lamb chops) roasted in Greek herbs

Hot tea

Baklava, shared

He:

 Malenzana( (sp)  (eggplant) pizza, shared,; the rest goes home

Boy are you  INDUSTRIOUS & clever too. Many years ago I received a jar of RUSSIAN TEA MIX;  as a gift from a very good friend.I enjoye,d that gift for quite awhile. Joan included the recipe so that I was able to make my own refils for yearsKiss

We are having breaded pork chops which I had in brine overnight,scalloped potatoes and green beans with a side salad (Hungarian cucumber salad) and of course another apple cake for dessert.My son doesn't leave much of this cake so I have to keep making this over and over again to get a little.LOL

I went to Golden Corral with my daughter and grandchildren. She was military and I am a Vet so we had a free meal. Oh boy was that place packed. Busy busy busy. Got home and found out our water was contamented and we are not to drink unless boil first. So  my dishes from earlier will not be washed. Went to Greensboro with my daugther to Greensboro for her pre-op. Called and told Golden Corral in case they did not know because their glasses and many dishes were not clean clean and we told them but did not know about the water. Now I see why the dishes etc were dirty. City should have called all resturants. Nite everyone sweet dreams
