We're having chicken wild rice soup along with freshly baked bread this evening. After the little dusting of snow made the roads a veritable skating rink this morning, I figured it would be nice for my husband to come home to a "comfort meal".

Last night I finished some beef stew and, of course broccoli salad. This morning I'm taking that stuff and a load of cookies to a wonderful couple that has been driving around the USA for 80 days! He retired so they got in their motor home and took off. All of us have missed them so much and are so glad they are back.
I thought they were arriving today and I had planned to have dinner for them the first night home.. Yesterday she said they were too tired to eat anyhow - lol.

I think this might be one of those "no clue" days. That's what happens when you have a lot of leftovers and not enough of any of them to make a whole meal lol. Oh well, since it's so cold today, maybe I should just make some stew.

I kept a big bowl of broccoli salad for me. On my trip out this morning I bought a couple delicious chicken breasts ............. broccoli salad and a chicken breast make a great meal

I'm thinking of making a favorite hamburger and rice hot dish tonight. It's pretty quick to put together, a one dish meal, what could be better? We have some pumpkin carrot cake to finish off the meal.

My husband has a late evening at work, so he suggested he stop and pick up a pizza on his way home for dinner. Who am I to deny that? So, no cooking for either of us this evening. Just a nice, quiet time together. Sounds good to me!

I just heated a bowl of soup for myself. Had the oven taken up by two, yes two bundt cakes. My Grandson wants to make a cake for the "big" Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday and like a foolI showed him a picture of a Pumpkin Cake made with two bundt cakes stacked, one inverted onto the other and the shape is very much like a pumpkin.
He will be home late from school tomorrow so decorating will be reserved for Friday.
I will let you know how it turned out.

Nikki - that sounds so very pretty! I wish we could see a photo.
I've been boiling all those turkey wings and turkey legs trying to get great broth. The broth is fantastic and, of all things, the meat is good too. I've never eaten "dark" meat - thought it wasn't good. Well, it sure makes a good sandwich.
