Tonight's dessert is apple crisp.  Judging by how many apples are on the trees yet, I think this and apple pie may become a staple for a while lol.

Susan - which whoopie did you make?  I have 1 batch of cookies made and another all assembled and ready to go.  But I can use a third and I bet the kids would love them.

Chocolate chip blondies.   Getting ready to bake regular choc chip cookies for the college kids - two granddaughters and one grandson.  Mailing the stuff out is pricey but I love to surprise them with a care package.

Tonight's dessert is leftover(is there such a thing?) peach pie.  Trying to get my fridge emptied out a bit since I will most likely be needing room for all those apples.   I love fresh fruit but sometimes it's overwhelming when it all comes at one time.

Nancy..

I made the Choc. and boy was the filling great!  I had my doubts about the filling because it called for shortening and butter.  I was wondering how shortening would taste in a filling but was I impressed.   I got the recipe from a local newspaper and it was called
PA Dutch Whoopie Pies.  Very easy and I got about 9 Whoopie pies.  I course I shared 2 of them with an elderly couple, that was there dessert tonight!  By husband thought the cake part was excellent!

Susan - I dug out the whoopie recipes that I had printed from right here .... I decided the chocolate one was what I wanted and started pulling out ingredients.  Then I got tired - LOL LOL.  I've decided I have enough cookies.  I'm baking no more!!

Pumpkin pudding.  But not the boxed kind.  Libby's pumpkin mixed with fat free vanilla pudding mix and 1% milk.

I have to get busy sorting and packing all those cookies I take to church in the morning .... and I'm fixing the container for my city police.
And this morning (I was at church cleaning) a kind man came in to thank me.  That meant so much .... I think I'll take his kids a treat.

I was looking in the fridge and noticed my bag of lemons,so besides the Dutch apple pie I'm going to make lemon squares too ! Here in NE Ohio we have a chain of discount stoes called Marc's,I buy their bags of lemons ,there are about 9 lemons in a bag for $2.50 the other stores want about .75 cents apiece for lemons.I always buy the bag,not only good for cooking and baking but for cleaning too!
