This has got to be the ugliest cookie I ever saw! I had to read the recipe twice just to believe all that's in it! Just had to share!

Late Night Snack Cookies

These yummy chocolate chip cookies are crammed with all your late night hosts’ favorite snack foods – like chewy, chocolatey caramels, salty potato chips, and crunchy waffle cones. With these cookies on hand, you’ll want to raid the pantry late at night.

pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® chocolate chip cookie mix

1/2: cup butter, softened

1: egg

14: round chewy caramels in milk chocolate (from 12-oz bag), unwrapped and coarsely chopped

4: cups potato chips, coarsely crushed (about 2 cups crushed)

4: waffle cones, coarsely crushed (about 1 1/2 cups crushed)
: DIRECTIONS

1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick cookie sheet). Line cookie sheets with cooking parchment paper.
2 In medium bowl, stir cookie mix, butter and egg until soft dough forms. Add caramels, potato chips and waffle cones; stir until well-mixed (dough will be thick). Onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls about 2 inches apart; flatten to about 1/2 inch thickness.
3 Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks to cool completely. Store covered at room temperature.

I know this might sound crazy but my mom always saved the potato chip crumbs or crushed them and put them over ice cream,it was really good it's that salty sweet thing again.These cookies might not look good but some how I bet they are.Thanks for the recipe.

"UGLY" is in the eye and the mouth of the beholder.....
These will be made this evening. My Grandson is spending the night and I just think we may have to have a cookie baking marathon.
I was planning on making the Rosemary shortbread cookies that showed up from My Baking Addiction the other day.

I'll bet it tastes really good. However I never have potato chips in the house, nor do I use a cookie mix. It is easy enough to make scratch chocolate chip cookie dough, so could start with that. It kind of reminds me of a "cowboy cookie": recipe I have. It has all kinds of stuff in it, but no potato chip crumbs.

I just got home from the store. Forgot the ice cream cones I figure no big deal this is a dump it in cookie so I will just add something else. The most difficult thing will be to save the potato chips for the cookies..... ;)

Judy, I don't really like to use pre-made cookie mixes either nor those pop-open tubes that scare you to death when they open! So I agree with you on that. And I don't buy potato chips either. They taste too good!

I don't think this cookie looks ugly at all. I wouldn't mind having one
right now. I don't use cookie mixes either. I like to make my own. My
mother used to make potato chip cookies and they were awesome. I
also never have potato chips in the house. I would eat the whole bag.

Just goes to show that I need to print out the recipe to take with me when I shop.
I got the wrong cookie dough. I got the refrigerated dough not the dry.
I figured no big deal I just skip the egg and butter.
So I cut up 2 packs of Rolo candy..I ate one because there was an extra and ya gotta check quality control.
I crushed up the potato chips. Ate a few of those, quality control again.
Mixed up the dough, put in the candy and mixed that in a bit.
Poured in the potato chips and mixed them in lightly.
Measured them out in 1/4 cup measure cup and baked 5 to a cookie sheet.

These are real good. I love the sweet salty and crunch that the potato chips give to the cookie.
The Rolo candy gives just enough caramel gooeyness to the cookie.
I think I skimped on the potato chips a bit I think I will add more next time I do like the salty with the caramel.

In Response to Re: THE UGLIEST COOKIE : Vicki, I've read the ingredients on the pop open cans and said "no thanks' They are expensive also. Cookies are so easy I don't know why a person would bother with a mix---same with muffins., Those are expensive also

I don't like to use pre-done things if I can do it myself but there's been times I have. Most are good but my stuff has real ingredients only! :)
