Here's the recipe ......... One of the great active women on here posted it some time ago. I use it all the time.
Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies 350* - ungreased - 10-12 minutes - 3 doz 1 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 20 oz jar maraschino cherries 6 oz choc chips 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
In large bowl, sift flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder & soda. In mixer bowl, beat butter & sugar on low speed til fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and beat until well blended. -Shape dough into 1" dough balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down the center of the ball with thumb. -Drain cherries, reserving juice. Place a cherry in the center of each dough ball. -In small saucepan, combine choc. pieces, sweet. condensed milk. Heat until choc is melted. Stir in 4 tsp cerry juice. Spoon 1 tsp of choc mixture over each cherry, covering well. -Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 mins. Makes about 3 doz cookies.
