My 11 yr old and I were in the store the other day, and she looked at some sticky buns and cinnamon rolls; mmmmmm I want some of those, but the kind you make because they taste real! LOL I like to try different recipes; I had made some one time with potatoes and I enjoyed it. Might just will be doing that tomorrow with the wonderful snow coming down. Which recipe or site is your favorite?

I make rolls and sticky buns from scratch, and also "cheat" occasionally by starting with Rhodes frozen bread.

I order the "kit" for cinnamon rolls from King Arthur! They are the bomb diggity! Easy to make too! I use my bread machine to make the dough and it comes out perfect!

I will make the dough today and get up early tomorrow, while I clear off the snow and bake them just so my daughter can wake up to the smell, and hubby too of course LOL

Meijers has "Sticky Buns"...yep, that's what they call them. I have made sticky buns using the following recipe. They are delicious!! As to cinnamon rolls, I buy them at Gordon's Food Store. So good!! Just thaw, nuke, and enjoy!!

6 slices (about 4 ounces) bacon cut crosswise into 1-inch pieces
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup roughly chopped pecan
1 can (16 ounce) refrigerated biscuits
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Cook bacon, stirring occasionally, until it begins to brown, 3 to 4 minutes
Transfer bacon to a paper towel-lined plate.
In a medium bowl, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, and pecans.
Stir in the bacon and divide among 8 muffin cups.
Place biscuits on a sheet of wax paper and sprinkle both sides with the
cinnamon. Place biscuits OVER the bacon mixture in each of the cups,
gently pressing to fit.
Bake at 350 degrees until the biscuits are golden brown, 18 to 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately invert onto a baking sheet or platter.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
The second time I made them, I doubled the bacon. Even more delicious!!

I have always made my own Cinnamon Rolls/ Sticky Buns. I use the same dough recipe for both, but the difference is what you do after the 1st rising.

I make the dough in my food processor, which makes it really easy. The recipe makes about 14 rolls.

If you want really decadent sticky buns, you can order them from Williams-Sonoma on line, but be prepared to pay!!

I always make my own sticky buns and cinnamon rolls. Like Barbara, I use the same dough but treat it differently, depending on what I am making. If there is any interest, I'd be glad to post the recipes.

I should add that I use the bread maker for the dough part.

I used to make homemade bread prior to breadmaker. I made 8 loaves with only 1 pkg of yeast. I know it sounds unbelievable but my sweet Polish girlfriend taught me how to make that wonderful bread. She left this life early and I miss her but I learned a great deal from her.

Where do you live? I'm in Amish country so everywhere you go you can find them. My daughter doesn't like rasisns she I make mine with crasins.

Celeste I think that everyone would be interested in learning what living in Amish country would be like! Here in California we don't get to see this & I've always been interested in hearing about other places and people and I'm sure others would too! :)

Living over here in Amish country has it's pros and cons just like anywhere. When friends come to visit from other areas, they are not use to the smell of fresh cow, chicken and pig manure LOL Doesn't bother us since we are use to it. It's beutiful farm country. However I do live in the city in a historic area (not really we have slum lords). Horse and buggys do come into town and they have their private taxi services. They don't believe in worldly things such as deordrant, electricty, phones in the house and so forth. Why I don't know. Lots of them have businesses, some are very friendly and some stand offish as with any community like thiers. We have several farmers markets that they have some of thier produce at.

I have found that the Rhodes Cinnamon rolls are great. I buy the giant which have 6 rolls and the frosting included. Before I go to bed and I put the 6 rolls on a large cookie sheet then cover with pam sprayed on saran wrap, let set over night and these get as big as a dinner plate. really.. they are so light and airy. I don't buy another brand.

i wish I was home so I can have my house smelling of cinnamon rolls! it's snowing in MD and I am here on business, then super bowl tomorrow (not feeling it since I am working in the morning but hubby wanted to go sigh)
