I never even thought to look for canned sour cream.
I have switched to Greek Yogurt and I almost always have that on hand. Great for breakfast and great in a cake.  Dr. Seuss could have done a book on Greek Yogurt!

Sorry Nellie, I've never seen it either.  Just about everything else comes in a can, so why not sour cream?  lol

Nellie:  I've never seen it, either.  Will look next time I go grocery shopping.  If I find it I will let you know.

Sour Cream Powder can be used anywhere regular sour cream would be used. Add to cakes, muffins and cookies for rich texture and flavor.

I keep Sago Buttermilk in a can on hand, but I haven't heard of sour cream in a can either.  Have you tried an online search - either a general search or of Carnation or Pet's products?

I never knew sour cream came in a can.  I'll have to look for that.  It would be a great product to have in a pantry.

I did a quick search yesterday after I saw this.  There is a powdered sour cream but the comments that I saw would make me think twice or three times before I bought it.  I will stick to the Greek Yogurt or the real sour cream.

FOUND A CLOSE SUBSTITUTE

            NESTLE
             MEDIA
           CREMA
        TABLE CREAM

all of these words are on the label stackes like this

7.6 FL OZS      $1.37 AT Walmart today

i saw it recommended in a google search  and i know that a lot of The Food Network chefs use it in place of sour cream----------i just didn't know that it came in a can------

Nancy G

at walmart it was on the  food aisle where they have all rhe ethnic foods in the mexican section-------------the can is mostly sky blue with some white and it had strawberries on the front

be careful because i think there were about seven or eight different products in similar cans    all nestle products---------

i just made my Choco-holic Cake in jumbo muffin pans with it and it came out just right

i also use the buttermilk powder and have for about 25 or 30 years because i don't drink buttermilk and it's hard to go buy it when you only need a little

GRANA here;
for a  buttermilk substitute,( in baking)I add 1TBS cider vinegar to one cup of evap or fresh milk( nonfat OK); quickly stir & allow a minute for it to curdle, works fine n salad dressings & pancakes;alI I've needed it for.

TIP: put the vinegar in the measuring cup , first;  then add milk to total amount needed for recipe.. use1 tsp vinegar to 1/3 cup milk, etc.
white inegar may also be used.
