I just received a recipe from my Sister in law.I have not tried this yet but I'm going to.This is a recipe for a small single serve cake that is made in the Microwave. It is called a three- two- one cake.Mix together well in a gallon size freezer bag.One box of Angel food cake mix and one box of any other flavor cake mix.One must be an Angel food because it already has egg white in it. This can be stored right on your shelf.I can't wait to try this.I looked for this out on the internet and found it.It was getting really great reveiws.I think that kids would get a kick out of this one. This is something they could do with supervision for the little ones.

                                        3-2-1 CAKE

In an ungreased glass custard cup that is microwave safe or any other small microwave safe dish,Mix 3 Tablespoons dry cake mix, 2 Tablespoons water and stir together until well blended, microwave for 1 minute.Cool for a few minutes.
This is why it is called the 3-2-1 cake this can then be topped with lowfat whipped topping, fruit or both. This would be great for those dieting or if you just want a bite of something sweet without having a whole cake there to tempt you.

Remember you are just mixing the dry cake mixes together nothing else. Then just follow the above directions.

Sounds like something I might try since we like to have something sweet while watching TV and I don't like to keep cake because we don't need the calories, but once in a while...Thanks

Naaaaaaa Nellie - not me.  I want a whole cake.  Wink

It does sound good and easy.  But, gee whiz, I'll have a whole box of regular cake mix and a whole box of angel food mix and use just 3 Tbl at a time.  Won't that leave a lot of opened mix that will take a long time to use?

Sounds like something my kids would enjoy making (and eating).  I'll have to get an angel food mix next time I'm at the store.

Interesting.  I wonder if this would be a do-able cake for deployed military?

Hi Renee,I want to say yes because the cake mix doesn't have to be refrigerated, stored in a freezer bag.All that is needed is a microwave, that's the thing if they have access to one,a small microwave dish,a tablespoon measuring spoon and water. There was no mention of greasing the bowl. The sister in law that I received this from has a son who is in Afghanistan,I'll call her later and see what she says and if she is sending any to him.

Thanks for sharing Gale.  This sounds great!  I'll have to make sure to mark the bag so it isn't mistaken for something else lol.

i just made it---------

i weighed everything out and mixed 1/2 of angel cake with 1/2 d.h. dark chocolate fudge and the other half with d.h. strawberry supreme

i made the choc first in 1100 watt m.w.----took out immediately and ate while hot
then i did the strawberry and let it sit in mw for a few minutes

the strawberry was better----maybe for sitting

both were a little spongy
i've never used an angel cake mix before and didn't know the egg whites are separate from the mix-----are they all that way?

This would be a good mix to give to college students also.

My son is on an aircraft carrier, and they have access to microwave ovens on the ship. So he could easily be making these personal cakes.
