I am in the process of trying out a new recipe for slow cooker pear bread pudding.  We have a huge pear tree in our yard and every year we try to give most of the pears away but we still are blessed with a good supply.  In the past I have made pear butter, pear cobbler, pear pie and pear jelly but the temperature today is in the high 80's and I refuse to turn on the oven thus I'll be try out the slow cooker.  I will give all  of you a review when its done.  I will also post the recipe.
Hugs and Blessings

I make a lot of bread pudding, but I have never made it in my slow cooker.  For me, bread pudding is a wonderful way to make use of leftover bread and extra fruit that I have on hand.  I've used apples, pears, bananas, peaches...and a wide variety of breads. Looking forward to hearing how your pudding turns out and will definitely be interested in the recipe.

That sounds really good.  I've made slow cooker rice pudding, but hadn't seen anything for bread pudding.  Please let us know how it goes.

Guess I'm going to have to break down and buy my first-ever crock pot (I'm a microwave cooking fan!). This sounds excellent!

Pear sounds delicious especially now that Fall's arrived.  I'd treat it just like an apple or any other fruit you put in.  Good Luck & I agree - no oven on in 75+ degree weather

I am really just getting involved with slow cooking. I have not made any desserts in the slow cooker and this one sounds delicious. It will be my first real attempt...
